Wasn't pleasant viewing but that's a reality when there's such a glut of animals in the industry, and dogs gotta eat something too.
I guess I grew up on a farm, when livestock has reached the end of its useful life, it ultimately gets sent to the abattoir to be used for meat, both for animal or human consumption.
Hard not to be more sensitive about horses, they're such wonderful creatures. You'd think this will instigate some better practices for post race careers but I strongly doubt you could eliminate the fate for every horse that comes through the industry.

No, not yet.
It's a special interest or concession or something, so no group status.

In terms of Supercoach I think it's considered one

I'm hoping to go the same way. Seriously, that's sad but it's a better way to go than some of the horses on the 7.30 report.

I boxed 10,11,12,13,14 in this race for the exacta.
1st: 11 ($28.20/$5.80)
2nd: 14 ($5.60)
3rd: 10 ($1.60)
4th: 12 (was paying $6 for the win)
The exacta paid $936, would've had the First 4 too if I had the plums, that paid over $20K.
I couldn't win Jackshit during the day, 1st and 3rd if I went exacta's, 1st, 2nd and 4th's if I went tri's, it was a good little finisher for me as I grabbed a big bottle of black sambuca on my way to the uber.
