One for the West Fans

Leaping Lindner put this on The Roost and I found it amusing, this from a 1938 budget (looks like things haven't changed much in almost 70 years! ;)):

For matches with North vs West since Round 2 1938:

Played 173 North 100 West 73

I'm assuming that match the cartoon is from this match:

Round 9 1938
North 3.3 8.9 16.17 21.21 (147)
West 4.4 9.8 10.9 14.11 (95)
Prospect, 3282

Although North came from 2 points down in Round 2 to win by 16, it's not much of a turnaround.
West won the Round 17 match 20.26 to 13.9.

Initially before I enlarged it, I thought it said that as well - double o instead of the u.

Routed... Rooted?
Words had different meanings back in the olden days....
re. The lyrics to 'A Tiger For Me'
has a certain word rhyming with 'Bay'
which meant 'Happy' back in the days of Colin Churchett!
