Wickham/Ebert feud.

Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

Wickham/Ebert feud.

Postby Mr66 » Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:54 pm

I was going through my old Football Times tonight when I read Stan's column and
he alluded to his rift with Russell.
Anyone know the real dirt?

Russell probably wouldn't lend him his bike.

How long ago??

I know Russell dragged Stan's grandson at the U/17 carnival 15 years ago (1992) because at Full Forward he was squatting when the ball was at the other end....

Russell was right BTW Brad Smith is argaubaly one of the most talented kids I've seen in my time in footy but just did not have a work ethic....

Wasted talent, he sould be retiring from AFL footy now with 200 + games under his belt....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Judging by Stan's writings Tassie,I would say their feud started in the 70's.
Stan was always pretty vague(or his ghost writer was) and didn't even
allude to any time or place when it started.

Brad Smith is a classic.

The only player i ever knew (cricket) to take a caught and bowled near deep mid wicket whilst letting out what seemed to be a 15 second fart.
