SANFL Hall of Fame

Postby pipers » Fri Aug 03, 2007 12:46 am

Is there such a thing?

I've read with interest the discussion about Carey missing out on AFL Hall of Fame induction.

I'd be very suprised if the big bloke gave a flying **** about it to be honest.

He'd relish being honoured in an SANFL HOF though I'm sure...

If I had to pick 10 off the bat (warning: likely Port bias) they would be:

Ebert
Cahill
Robran
Carey
Kerley
KG
Cornes
Nunan
MacIntosh
and maybe Blight...

Yes, I've left out guys like Hank, Fos Williams, Deane, Quinn, McLean etc, but I never saw them play or coach, so I can't say if they should be in there (although you'd expect so)

Apparently there is...

SANFL Hall of Fame

But it seems the AFL influence still exists... WTF is Shaun Rehn doing in this list? There would be 250 other players ahead of him surely...

Perhaps threatening to sue the SANFL had something to do with that...?

You cant be serious about not knowing the SANFL had a Hall of Fame.

That lack of common knowledge puts a big black cloud over your creditability. :butthead: :butthead:

There are 2 major Hall of Fames that I know about (not including ones at clubs). The first one is the Australian Football Hall of Fame which mostly has players, coaches and the like who were in the VFL/AFL and the other one is SA Football Hall of Fame and this has SANFL players and the like in it and this is ran by the SANFL.
WOOOOO, Premiers 1993, 2006 and 2011!

Credit where it's due, Rehnny was an excellent player before injury and age caught up with him.
