I've got a match report from 1894 which mentions a player called Pash playing well for Norwood. I am assuming he is one of "the" Pashs. Does anyone know an initial or first name of this gentleman?
He isn't listed in "Red and Blue Blooded" pre 1907 players.

You're right. He isn't listed in "Red and Blue Blooded", but he is listed in the follow up "Men Of Norwood". Played in 1894 only, no mention of the number of games played. Listed as H.Pash.

I could try and find out a little more if you want me to.

Ah brilliant Hawk! Thanks a lot. I'm assuming that would be Harold. If so that is interesting as we didn't know that before. Also Harold started at North in 1895 from memory so that would fit.
There was a total of four Pash brothers that played league and in all my research I found no mention of any of them playing for Norwood - until now.
I take it Men of Norwood may have utilised some of that fine research Ian Everitt did. He did the most reasearch on that era that I know of.

Yes, it did. Mike Coward makes special mention of Ian Everitt in his acknowledgements. Obviously a lot of work done in the 15 years between the 2 books.

Tell me LL, how easy is it to obtain information pre-1907 in regards games played and goals kicked?

For North 1897-1906 wasn't too bad. We've manged a fairly complete list but Pre-1896 is a nightmare. It would be easier for Norwood as they (along with Port and South) got the most coverage in the press. For example a North V Natives or Adelaide game might barely get a paragraph of press and no mention of best players etc.. whereas a Port V Norwood clash from the same era would generally get at least half a column.

Is that from the Register, or is there some other source? I've only done 1907 onwards, and never looked prior to that time.

H Pash is already included in the pre 1907 list, so I've added in Harold.

I've only got access to The Register here in Melbourne, but in Adelaide the library has The Register as well as The Advertiser and The Express which covers that period. It pays to check all three if you can as one often has information the other two don't.

The Observer is good too as only published Saturday, so covers games from week before. If you don't have much time it is a short cut. However you have to eventually look through all papers to get the complete picture. Information seems more reliable from 1901.
