Also, there was the usual 6 day break between the prelim and the GF, which would have made it nearly impossible for Norwood to be competitive.
Now before everyone starts crapping on about Norwood winning from 5th in 1984, they had a 7 day break between the prelim and GF that year, which wasn't the norm at the time.
