Dont know what you're talking about Jimmy

Game was in 83' and I think Sturt kicked a goal just as the clock ticked into time-on to put them 25 points behind and they ended up winning by 7 points ... The teams were missing about 11 players who were on state duty in WA (Aish, Mcintosh, Davies and co.) yet the game was a cracking standard ... Willmott debuted and finished with 6 or so.

Would probably go down as a "Classic" if not for the result!

This would be it:

Round 10 1983
Sturt 4.1 10.6 15.9 21.12 (138)
Norwood 4.5 9.8 14.10 20.11 (131)
Norwood, 12485

Yeah yeah nice work Spelly

From memory the game see-sawed several times, Norwood got on a roll in the last quarter to kick 5 goals clear only for Sturt to mirror (and better) the same roll!

Think later that same year the Legs came from about 5 goals down at halftime to pinch the Qualifying Final from Sturt (who then reversed the result in the Prelim).

Qualifying Final 1983
Norwood 0.2 4.5 7.7 13.12 (90)
Sturt 4.3 8.6 10.13 12.14 (86)
Football Park, 27395

Preliminary Final 1983
Sturt 4.2 9.2 18.6 23.8 (146)
Norwood 4.3 9.8 12.9 15.12 (102)
Football Park, 30128

Here's one with two turnarounds:

Round 8 1979, Central led Sturt by 29 points at half time; then Sturt kicked 9.10 to 1.0, to lead by 29 themselves at 3QT. However, Central kicked 10.9 to 1.0 in the last quarter to win by 34:

Central 5.3 10.4 11.4 21.13 (139)
Sturt 2.2 5.5 14.15 15.15 (105)

Didn't Central and Sturt play a pair of matches during 1982 where each time lead by 10+ goals prior to halftime and ended up losing? (one at Footy Park and 1 at Unley from memory)

what about a glenelg v woodville game in late 80's/early 90's at woodville oval.

i think woodville led by a good margin at 3/4 time before we ran over them in the last

Yep, MT79 - 1990 - Woodville were 5-6 goals up all day. If they had have won would have been equal top, but instead kept sliding away out of finals and into merger. Think that same year lead South by 30+ points at 3/4 time and had kicked a heap of points and ended up losing. Spelly?

Late '88 Bays were up by around 5 goals at 3/4 time two weeks in a row and lost both games to sides out of finals contention?

And of course the Bays reserves in '90 losing the two finals, which has been done on another thread.
Norwood V Port in a GF when Port were up 8 goals to 3 at 3/4 time and lost - early 1900's?
And of course '94 when the whole season turned around in one quarter.
Funnay about Norwood at Woodville - reckon in '04 has led by 4 goals all day up to 3/4 time and then went scoreless while Eagles kick 8 to win comfortably?

i remember that game Mighty Tiger 1987/1988?

I was actually looking after the scoreboard on the day.

Woodville leading all day , Glenelg got momentum in the last quarter

Woodville up by 3-4 points at the 25minute mark of the last quarter.

Chigwidden slots through a point from 30 metres out at the southern end and then unbelievably the goal umpire signals a goal.

Everyone at the ground knew it was a point , except the goal umpire.

I actually had changed the points tally without looking at the goal umpire first, because i was right behind the kick.

i was in two minds whether to change the bloody score , cheating bloody bays paying the umpires again!!!

As i recall Glenelg won by that stuff up , Siren goes and someone jumps the fence and clocks the umpire
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

Ok, scores going in order from CP:

Round 7 1982
Sturt 0.3 8.9 13.13 20.15 (135)
Central 7.7 14.9 16.13 18.15 (123)
Football Park, 10269

Round 16 1982
Central 2.2 8.9 14.17 20.23 (143)
Sturt 9.5 15.6 18.11 21.15 (141)
Unley, 6218

There are two matches that Glenelg beat Woodville won by one point - in 1989 and 1990:

Round 14 1989
Glenelg 3.4 6.11 9.14 11.16 (82)
Woodville 3.3 5.4 7.9 11.15 (81)
Woodville, 3542

Round 5 1990
Glenelg 6.1 8.1 12.5 19.13 (127)
Woodville 4.4 12.6 17.8 19.12 (126)
Woodville, 5065

Round 10 1990
South 2.1 6.9 8.13 14.21 (105)
Woodville 4.4 8.4 13.8 15.8 98
Football Park, 2619

Round 16 1988
Torrens 4.5 7.8 15.14 18.18 (126)
Glenelg 5.1 12.2 15.4 16.7 (103)
Thebarton, 4629

Round 21 1988
West 3.3 6.4 9.6 14.11 (95)
Glenelg 3.7 8.12 11.14 11.17 (83)
Football Park, 8972 D/H

Not sure about the early 1900s' GF, Flying High

I don't need to repeat the 1994 GF score

Round 9 2004
Eagles 3.2 6.3 10.4 18.6 (114)
Norwood 4.3 9.6 12.9 12.9 (81)
Woodville, 2065

Round 16 1988
Torrens 4.5 7.8 15.14 18.18 (126)
Glenelg 5.1 12.2 15.4 16.7 (103)
Thebarton, 4629

Spelly was that the game kym dillon kicked an impossable goal from the pocket in the last quarter and it was also kernanhans last game for the bays before joining Carlton.

What about the game we spoke about in an earlier post when campbell was reappointed as glenelgs coach and West torrens kicked 13 goals in the last quarter to win .

Simister took a screamer at the top of the square. Set shot straight in front, and he nearly missed the freaking thing too!

No, Dillons goal was in this game:

Glenelg 1.8 8.13 9.15 14.23 (107)

Kernahan played in the Glenelg Flag side that year - his last match for the Bays.

The other match:
Round 6 1983
Torrens 0.4 8.8 10.8 23.11 (149)
Glenelg 5.6 8.9 14.13 15.16 (106)

Yes:

Round 8 1994
West 0.1 4.8 9.10 15.12 (102)
Port 9.1 11.5 15.7 15.11 (101)
Football Park, 4060 (Night)

Rouind 9 1994
West 0.1 6.6 12.10 18.14 (122)
Eagles 7.3 8.4 11.6 14.8 (92)
Richmond, 3456

Two weeks later, Glenelg led Eagles by 30 points at half time at Glenelg. I was at this game, but had to leave at 3QT as Dad had to go to work (one of the downsides of being a 9 year old) . What I missed of course was that we kicked 10.7 to 1.2, to win by 51.

Round 11 1994
Eagles 6.0 7.2 13.9 23.16 (154)
Glenelg 5.5 11.8 14.11 15.13 (103)
Glenelg, 4518

That same round, in a curtain raiser match, Norwood led Central by 25 points at QT, only to end up losing by 83.

Central 1.3 10.9 14.10 23.12 (150)
Norwood 5.4 6.6 6.10 9.13 (67)
Football Park

Spelly, do you have the score from the Port v North game at Alberton from 3 or 4 years ago where Port were about 20 points up at 3qtr time only to lose by about 28? Roe and Heuskus absolutely towelled us up in the last qtr.

IIRC we kicked the first goal after half time too.....and I thought we've got this, Pesch had been dropped by the Crows or was coming back from injury and burnt in the last half....

The same round South were six goals up against Port at Adelaide oval in the 2nd quarter to lose the game.....less than a week after a crises meeting amongst the Port players....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It was the fourth game in a row Pesch played (from Round 7, and also the Night Grand Final)

It was also Scott Camporeales' first game for Premiership Points (he played his first senior match in the Night GF).

The only two changes for that match was Camporeale and Romano Negri in for Stuart Totham and Shaun Ballans - his only two matches he ever played were the Night GF and Round 10.

I can only give you the Eagles scorers from that game:
Phillipou 7.3, Kluzek 4.0, Nicol, Thorne 3.1, S.Sziller 2.2, Payze, Pesch 1.1, Taylor, S.Hannam 1.0, J.Sziller 0.1, Rushed 0.6.

Qualifying Final Port v Central 1989. Not a huge comeback...but its a decent size turnaround.

Centrals were leading by 13 points at half time. Ended up losing by 85. Port kicked 17 goals to 2 in the 2nd half!

PA 1.0 / 6.3 / 15.9 / 23.17 (155)
CD 2.6 / 7.10 / 8.12 / 9.16 (70)

Hodges kicked 5, Obst 4 and Ginever 3.

Centrals could have put us away had they kicked straight.

One that I remember from recent years was Port v Glenelg @ Glenelg Round 12 2003

PA 2.3 / 3.7 / 11.8 / 16.11 (107)
GL 3.3 / 8.6 / 10.7 / 14.10 (94)

Was the controversial match where Beinke got reported and Glenelg somehow recieved a 150 metre penalty for it (went from Ports goalsquare to Glenelgs goalsquare). Also where Dick Williams was accused of racial vilification against Ricky O.
