Great work Spelly.
Interesting that Jim Deane was runner up 3 times and won the medal twice. It surely can be said that he was one of the all time great players in the sanfl. In the late 40's and '50's he was competing in a bottom side against the likes of Head,Hank,Fitzgerald and Quinn and many other notables.
Sad to say that Jim is not in the best of health at the moment.

South refused to clear him.

Fos Williams wasn't a bad second choice...
