Marcus Burdett

Now at his third SANFL club, South defender Marcus Burdett had the unusual distinction of playing against his two former clubs in Glenelg and Port Adelaide in the first two rounds, knotching up a win in both. Surely this is an unusual situation, particularly when the amount of players to play for three clubs would be fairly low. Is this the first instance?

I don't think it would be that rare. Some that readily come to mind are:
Ken Eustice: West. Central, Glenelg
Neil Kerley: West, South, Glenelg
Brenton Hartfield: North, Norwood, Glenelg.
Neil Craig: Norwood, Sturt, North
Michael Nunan: Sturt, Norwood, North
Paul Weston: Glenelg, Torrens, Norwood
Geoff Baynes: Torrens, South, Woodville
Bob Keddie: West, South, Glenelg

But to play against both your former clubs in your first two games for your new one would be unusual.

Yes, I certainly agree with that.

By my players list, Burdett has become the 66th player to have played with three clubs:
John Reedman South North West
Do you know if Reedman definitely played for West spelly? I know he coached them.
For the record he also played league for Hotham and North Adelaide(mk#2)

He played for South Adelaide and North Adelaide, but only coached West Adelaide as a non-player.

I'm not sure about this one Spelly. The Michael Dittmar I know of played for Port from 69-70, and for South from 73-74. There was a Dittmar who played for North later on (his first name escapes me ... it's been a long day haha!!) but I'm sure it was a different player.

There was a Michael Dittmar who played for North about 15 years ago, a full forward type (then there was a Mark Dittmar (Wally's son i think) who played for Port in the late 80's).

I don't think that list is 100% correct, given the total number of sources it was compiled with. That's just what I have at the moment.

Ecky has pointed out to me that there are two players named Craig Fielke, one for Sturt and the other for West and Central.
