I've always had this theory that more often than not, when you're reserves have a loss, your league side wins later that day.

Can you give the counts of occaisions where:
The Reserves:League teams have a Loss:Win, Win:Win, Win:Loss, Loss:Loss
for each club?

Do you want me to do this stat even on occasions the League and Reserves opponents were different? Because prior to 1964. quite often that was the case - it had to happen anyway between 1959 and 1963, regardless.

I've done it from 1964 anyway, to give you some idea (and me as well!)

Almost proves my theory. For Norwood anyway. Close but no cigar.

After a reserves loss, Norwood have won 173, lost 176. Under 50/50 by a bee's ....

My theory is correct however for Eagles and Port.

Eagles after reserves loss, league has won 84, lost 75
Port after reserves loss, league has won 193, lost 132

That draw/draw between West and Woodville would have been one for the ages.

Yes, the Round 21 1973 meeting where the League sides drew on 58 points, and the Reserves on 57 points!
