Stumbled upon this one on YouTube.
Greg Champion rattles off a long string of famous SA players.

Video footage looks like either '82 or '83 SA vs Vic game:

Greg Champion is a Norwood supporter, and was the entertainment prior to the Norwood Oval centenary match against Sturt in 2001. Good to hear Ian Brewer get a mention :)

I still have a Coodabeen Champions book here somewhere, featuring the likes of Tiny Timmy from Thomastown and Massive Merv from Moorabin.

ALso lists the top 20 magic moments from football.. amongst them:

Ron Barassi dragging Malcolm Blight after kicking a sensational goal from the boundary line, and;
Des Tuddenham making Essendon players crawl laps of Windy Hill for training. :shock:

Great book though, still pull it out* from time to time

Des Tuddenham ... now that was one tough hombre. Loved him as a footballer, tough as nails, but good skills as well. Met him a couple of times later on and he's a top bloke as well. My enduring memory of Tuddenham was when he broke his leg as captain-coach of Essendon. As they were taking him off he was sitting up on the stretcher yelling out instructions to the players. :)
