Dream Matchups

OK ... I've never been a believer of saying Alby Green in 1898 is a better player than Michael Aish in 1981, because the styles of footy in those times is far too different (the same type of thing which always causes conjecture in Team Of The Century processes).

However, in era's a little closer to one another, I would loved to have seen Macca or Chris McDermott running around the field in opposition to the Gowans boys ... Or Peter Carey or Mick Redden battling against Buckets McKenzie.

Any dream (and obviously they can only ever be dream) matchups you would nominate? They could possibly even involve players from same team, ie, Scott Hodges vs Roger Delaney.

Good topic.
- Would love to see G McIntosh v M Taylor. Would love to have seen how two completely different Norwood champions would deal with each other.
- Jack Oatey v Robert Oatey roving for Norwood.
- As a kid, loved Gallagher and Rosser on our wings. Like to see them go head to head over 7-8 games.
- Wacka Scott is our most decorated player. Would like to see him on Stephen Kernahan.
- Would love to see G Cornes v C Cornes, in 70s style high-marking contest footy.

Finally, would like to see Roger Woodcock again on any hapless late 70s defender. ;)

I'd love to see that one :D

Seeing as though the Gowans boys are good mates with Stuart Dew, they want to give on back to Macca for that "incident" back in the late 90's ;)

Yep. 1979 under Mike Patterson. He actually started at St Kilda's junior teams and then went to Port before having returning in 1979.

Not that they could lace his boots as footballers though.

Michael Aish vs Andrew Aish - proof as to who was the better Aish
John Wynne vs Jack Oatey - actually scrub that one. :D
