I'm interested to know who your top 5 living legends (ie they are still alive!) at your SANFL club might be, and if you are so minded, who the top 5 might be for other clubs in your opinion?
Names such as Ebert, Blight, Robran etc stand out but you may also think that coaches and administrators also warrant mention?
In no particular order, (and admittedly with not much thought yet!), for Norwood I will start with the following:
Garry McIntosh
John Wynne
Wally Miller
Michael Taylor
Michael Aish

1. John Cahill - champion player and coach.
2. Russell Ebert - arguably the greatest Port Adelaide of them all.
3. Brian Cunningham - lead the club brilliantly on and off the ground. Come back Bucky!
4. Geof Motley - be a few less premiership trophies without #17.
5. Ian Hannaford - overlooked superstar. Big-game player retired very young (at 25 I think?)

John Cahill - wonderful coaching and playing record
Russell Ebert - Wish I was old enough to see the best of him, only saw the last few years of his career.
Mark Williams - I know he went and played elsewhere but his playing days at Alberton coupled with bringing us our first AFL flag have him in for mine. One of those who bleed black and white.
Brian Cunningham - Wonderful player and top notch Administrator.
Geoff Motley - Only having heard of his playing exploits but his admin/managers roles see him held in high esteem all around the land.
( in my viewing time, purely as a player )
Hodges,S.Williams,Buckley ( albeit brief ),D.Smith,Evans,Delaney....

Wally Miller
John Wynne
Ron Kneebone
Garry McIntosh
Michael Taylor

Neil Kerley
Ken Eustice
Robert Day
Robert Loveday
Grant Fielke.
Tossed up between Loveday and Meuret but Loveday did a lot of hard yards for us, including stepping into the breach and coaching us for a year when we found ourselves without one.

I can't fault your list ...
I kept trying to to put Sticks in, but agree Harry pips him due to his efforts over a very long period. I also tried to get Fred Phillis in, but again couldn't nudge anyone else out.
Damn it, make it the top 10 to help us out!

I actually thought i probably should have included Bucky in my list, maybe at the expense of Davey Boyd.
In my viewing time, the list would be R Ebert, G Phillips, B Abernethy, T Evans, C Bradley

Don't you mean
"bleeds the black & white", Booney?
See the threads on the Power's losses and his salary..

Would Doug Thomas go close? I don't profess to know much about his off-field time with Westies (nor onfield time for that matter), but like or loathe, his is a name that has been widely associated with Westies over a long long period of time.

In no particular order
1. Peter Jonas
2. Alan Stewart
3. John Platten
4. Kris Grant
5. Gary Window
Tough list with our recent premiership success i really really really really tried to fit Daniel Hulm, Darryl Hicks and the Gowans brothers in there but 8 doesn't fit into five.
maybe an easier list would be one for playing exploits and one for off field exploits
PLAYERS
1. John Platten
2. Daniel Hulm
3. Gary Window
4. Chris Gowans
5. James Gowans
COACHING/OFF FIELD
1. Peter Jonas
2. Alan Stewart
3. Kris Grant
4. Darryl Hicks
5. Roy Laird

I think he's a Port supporter now

, saw him at the Port/Richmond game in the Members stand a couple of weeks ago.
On a serious note, it was good to see him up and about after his health scares.

John Halbert and Jack Oatey for Lennon and Threadgold in my opinion. Possibly even Michael Graham for Peter Motley.
