The 1976 Grand Final always seems to be remembered as one of the great GF upsets, with Port Adelaide the raging favourite and Sturt the underdog. I've never understood this.

After watching Sturt in the 1st Semi Final, I selected them to win the flag, and if you check out page 4 of the 1976 GF Budget, they asked 8 players from other clubs to select who they thought would win, 4 went for Port, 3 for Sturt, and 1 went for a draw. That was Bob Loveday who said "Port should win it, but the way Sturt are playing I can't see them losing".
