I read that Sonny Morey was one of the original Central District players to start with the club in 1964. Just wondering if anyone knows if Sonny Morey played for Central prior to 1964 when they competed in the Reserves Competition?

He's not listed in the 1964 SANFL yearbook which lists all Central 1963 seconds players and their games total.

All I can tell you is he was 19 in the 1st season of 1964, and that he was recruited from Gawler. He didn't play a single reserves game in 1963, so I would guess he didn't.

Sonny made his debut for Central in their first sesason in the league competition in 1964...
Prior to that, he played at Galwer Central and was a member of their Grand Final side in 1963 who lost the premiership to South Gawler (who happened to Robin Mulholland, the former Dogs legend and co author of the great book 'Poms to Premiers' in their side)
So no, Sonny was not involved at Central when they were playing in the reserves comp from '59 - '63...
