Spelly,

Do you have a complete list of SANFL Seconds leading goalkickers?

I have them listed from 1946 to 1984 (1974, 1977, 1978 missing), but am unable to find any from that time.

I don't unfortunately.

I do have this quote which goes to show you even in 1979 what interest was taken to preserve such records:

8/7/79 by David Capel - "Astonishingly, the SANFL does not keep records of Reserves goals, nor for the 19s and 17s. I rang the League to obtain a list of goal kickers for the Reserves match between Glenelg and Sturt at Football Park a fortnight ago today (Sunday).
'Only the clubs can tell you that, We don't keep records' a League official said. 'But how would you know at the end of the season who topped the Reserves list, or if someone had kicked a record tally?' I asked. There was no answer to that. The League would not know."

Ray Hawkes ran the past players at Glenelg for years. Hawkey was a great bloke and a passionate bays man who contributed to teh club long after his playing career finished. RIP Hawkey. Good to see his son John make a bit of a career for himself... ;)
