Sturt should bring back those light blue socks with navy blue tops.

And while they're at it - the old insignia too!

I have the entire 1965 set.
Cost me $100 but still wouldn't part with them.
Sturt should bring their light blue shorts back instead of the socks.

Mobil Footy Cards are the greatest. Best quality cards of the lot. I have the entire SANFL sets for 1964, 1965 and 1971. I also have the entire set of VFL 1965.

The thing I like about them is how good the guernseys are, much better than the futuristic crap you see these days. They are also totally unlittered with logos and advertisements. West Torrens with the large gold swooping eagle on the chest was always my favourite. And the lace-ups were fantastic.

The worst part about footy uniforms back then were the white shorts. Not that the colour white didn't look good on South, North Central, etc, but for some strange reason I could always get a pair of black shorts that fitted, but I could never get a pair of white ones that ever fitted properly.

Speaking of shorts, it is interesting to note all clubs either wore black or white, but Norwood wore navy blue shorts. When colour shorts caught on in 1973 with West Adelaide (red), nobody ever mentioned that Norwood were the first to wear an alternative to black or white,

I also preferred the socks back then, far more colourful.

My earliest recollection of any type of footy cards was in the late 70's - although these were VFL footy cards, attained when buying a certain type of bubble gum.
