Percentage imbalance...

Spelly,

I know that a nine team 'bye-cycled' league fixture can distort the dynamics of percentage - but I note that as at ths morning only two of the nine teams have a percentage > 50 (Centrals and West). That means 77.7% of the league teams are under 50%.

Can you advise if this:
.has been seen many times before, in the regular season?
.has been the result of a ladder at seasons end (specifically where the third, fourth and/or fifth have also had a percentage < 50?

Just curious.

Port after Rd 9 1912 was the only team above 50%
Port in their unbeaten 1914 season was the only team above 50% from Rd 8 onwards except Rd 11. This is the only occasion to your second query where 22.22% of teams or less had more than 50% at seasons end.

After Round 4 1978, only Glenelg and Sturt had % above 50
Rounds 12-14 1989, only Port and North had % above 50
Rounds 6 and 8 1996, only Central and Port had % above 50

That's all to match or better the 22.22%.
