Favourite Glenelg Player

Going back over the time you have been watching the SANFL, who is your most admired player from Glenelg?

For mine its Peter Carey, no real reason, I realise that he played a record number of games, and likely there were other players that played better games on various occasions, yet he was just always there in the background and a hard player to boot, it stretches my memory but his performances in Glenelgs premiership certainly got them there IMO!

Peter Marker. Tough as an old boot, a brilliant player and inspirational leader. Always wanted him at Norwood.

As a teenager it was Robbie Walter, he was of only a couple of players from my club to have played at SANFL level and the only one at the time I played juniors there.

I grew up hating Glenelg thanks to the 85 and 86 Grand Finals but I still admired David Marshall for his skills and for showing the VFL that a 30 year old SANFL player could hold his own in their competition. I also admired Kernahan and McGuiness for what they were able to do in State of Origin and Freddy for the Crows.

Of the 3, I'd vote for Marshall.

For me it would be Tony Hall. Courageous, skillful, great mark.
