Only going one direction on the ladder

So this year Glenelg debuted on the ladder in second spot after their win against West in round 2. I think every time they changed position on the ladder it was downwards, eventually finishing in sixth.

When else has a team only gone one way on the ladder?

I recall Woodville debuting in top spot after round one back in the '80s under Mal Blight, only to finish last. That year might be a candidate. Also in '95 Port would have debuted on the bottom after round 1, then didn't drop a game until about round 10, did they go down at any point in that year?

I remember Norwood lost their first 2 games of the year in 1975 and didn't lose another game until the 2nd semi.
Interestingly there was only 18 minor round games that year instead of the normal 22.

They played a knockout comp during the year sponsored by Datsun.
Sturt defeated Glenelg in the final. Thus only 18 games which was a joke. At the rate Glenelg were scoring at they would have had the all time highest pts for in the minor round.

Yeah,I vaguely remember them kicking a few goals in a game against us late in the season. :(
I think North made the finals that year with a percentage of 44.The big 4 were never bigger than in 75.

Reakon that was '84.

IIRC, they smashed Torrens

Chris Scheer kicked nine for the Warriors.

Dogs were minor premiers in '95...

I was very sad Norwood could not improve on the position they held for most of the yer
The reverse of this situation would obviously be North. Wer'nt they near bottom at some stage ?

Yes I remember 1975 Norwood lost game 1 to Glenelg, game 2 to Sturt and won the rest of the minor round games to finish top.
Lost the second semi to Glenelg, beat Port in the Prelim and beat the Bays in one of the toughest GF's I have seen.

On this note, but not in the same season, pretty freaky, the Bays league side has dropped one position every season since 2008. In 2008 2nd, 2009, 3rd, 2010, 4th, 2011 5th, 2012 6th. Has anything like this happened before! Can someone post!

Cheers 8)

At that rate they'll finish 10th in 2016!

Sturt won the first two of 93 then won maybe 1 or 2 after that and finished last.might be a candidate?
