Do you blokes keep crowd Stats?

Would like to know how the SANFL is travelling compared to previous years - with the fine weather and close comp I would have thought this year is stacking up reasonabley well?

Now that Im typing this Im thinking Phil used to post have these stats etc...I know he reads this so might like to post them here

cheers

Thanks Spelly - looks like it will be the best year for 4 years, thought it might be better though esp with the poor crowd pulling Westies down the bottom...would be interested in the individual clubs break down if you have them

I don't think the small increase in crowds this year is anything to get too excited about.

The increase can be mainly put down to 3 factors

 Adelaide's driest winter on record
 The novelty of having Saturday Night games at Elizabeth (which may well wear off, especially with certain recent publicity...)
 A 25% increase in crowds at Glenelg Oval due to Glenelg's improved form, which is probably something else which is not sustainable.

The SANFL and the clubs need to keep promoting the League and not get complacent - I don't believe there has been any real, permanent increase in interest in the competition this year.

I don;t have the individual crowd records off hand, that chart I did have made - Phil has the different teams I think.

And Ecky is right, for any real increase in attendance to match the three criteria shown, it would have had to been over 3000 per match.

Can you explain what each column represents?
I understand the 1st one...

South got 4000 to a Sunday game at Noarlunga, the Bays have also done well. I think there could be signs of added interest....

south should play more sundy games as that would allow players in the local SFL to attend matches.

I think Glenelg should also play on sundays as they have had 2 good crowds on the 2 games that they had.
