Jar's spoke like you'd expect him to, just like he did in the club after games when he was coach

Is this right ?
Ernie Jones played at NA in 1900
Ernie Johns in 1901+
?
If so, I wonder if some peoples back then , thought for a time it was the same player ?

Good to see Charles Nitschke get some recognition for his off field contributions at the club
I wonder if a certain NA historian was leaping on this induction ?

Definitely two different players. Ernie Jones, the famous test cricketer only played the one season at North, 1900. He captained North's first premiership but played for Port Adelaide in 1901.

Ernie Johns was a star for North and the state for a number of years.

It is a travesty that Charles Nitschke is not in the SANFL Hall Of Fame. He was one of the preeminent administrators of the early SAFA and SANFL. North tried everything to get him into the SANFL Hall of Fame but were advised by one of the clowns running the league no to persist with his nomination. Modern administrators have no grasp of history.

As an aside Charles Nitschke's son H.C. (Slinger) Nitschke played test cricket for Australia and later on was a well known race horse owner. Mal, you would remember at least one of his famous horses, the Victoria Derby winner, Dayana.

He was very happy :D :D He also wrote the introduction for Mr Nitschke for the night!
No Snowy though. We'll keep working on that one.
