Drawn Grand Finals (and Challenge Finals)

I've been going through the NAFC player/game database and stumbled upon something I knew nothing about (that's not that unusual)

In 1919 North not only drew the Grand Final with West Torrens and had to replay it the following week, a week after the replay they also drew the Challenge Final against Sturt (who'd finished top in the minor round and challenged North for the title after they won the GF replay) and had to replay it again a week later

Another interesting statistic from the 4 matches, all 4 games had equal scoring shots, the straighter kicking side won each challenge final

Grand Final 13/09/1919
North Adelaide 2.3 - 15
West Torrens 2.3-15

Grand Final replay 20/09/1919
North Adelaide 6.2-38
West Torrens 5.3-33

Challenge Final 27/09/1919
North Adelaide 5.9-39
Sturt 5.9-39

Challenge Final replay 08/10/1919
North Adelaide 2.6-18
Sturt 3.5-23

What's even scarier is Ivor Nicolle of Sturt had a shot at goal in the dying seconds of the 1919 Grand Final. If he kicks a goal Sturt win by five points. If he misses and kicks a behind it's ANOTHER draw!!! Luckily for Sturt he kicked a major.

So North played in 2 draws and 2 games decided by 5 points in 4 weeks for 1 win.

Makes the modern day Cocks look pretty good. ;)
