Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

John H Ellers

Checked through the Glenelg website and found a couple of references to John Ellers on their website, yet no articles or chronology of what he achieved for the Glenelg Football Club, has any such article been written, if so is there a possibility of adding it somewhere like the Wikipedia site? Considering the Bays name their best and fairest award in his honour it would be nice for the next generation to learn something about who he was and what he did in his football life!

He was a good fella...

John H Ellers was the Glenelg Football Club president from mid season 1968 to 1981.
He was also the number one ticket holder up til he passed away in 2001.

Can't find out any other info...will look in the Pride of the Bay book and advise...

I remember going to his house once. In the dining room he had a huge portrait of him shaking hands with Paul Hogan.

Hmmm... nothing to do with anything, just a weird fact that popped into my head
