SA Hall of Fame Inducts 10 new Nominees Tonight

10 INDUTEES JOIN A LEAGUE OF SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL GREATS
South Australia’s elite parade of football legends grew to 160 tonight with the induction of 10 new heroes to the West End South Australian Football Hall of Fame, at a glitzy presentation dinner at AAMI Stadium.
Among the inductees was dual Magarey Medallist Andrew Jarman, giving the SA Football Hall of Fame its second set of brothers. The Jarmans – Andrew and Darren, who was inducted last year – join Norwood greats, brothers John and Anthony ‘Bos’ Daly in the Hall.
Also inducted tonight were dual Adelaide premiership captain Mark Bickley, Magarey Medallist and SANFL goalkicking record holder Scott Hodges, Port Adelaide, Collingwood, North Melbourne, Adelaide and state midfielder Bruce Abernethy, West Torrens and country great Kevin McSporran, two media personalities Ian Day and Max Hall who after playing or umpiring in the SANFL were pioneers in its television coverage, Glenelg and Carlton champion Andrew McKay and the late Jeff Bray and John Taylor, who was the first player to reach the 200-game milestone in the SANFL.
Bickley captured the pride of the 10 inductees when he said “I am certainly in very privileged company when I note who is in the Hall of Fame. To be considered worthy of being among these greats is indeed humbling. We have a place where the greats of every era can gather to pass on the legends of the South Australian game and make sure the traditions of the SANFL are never lost. I feel that responsibility to listen to the stories of the greats and make sure they are passed on to the future generations of our game.''
