I'm writing like it's Monday morning!
Was meant to be "come UP" and I was trying to emphasise that guys that worked some weekends, couldn't commit to full 2-dayers in B grade. And I love knowing the result each week. Lop-sided games drag out like nothing else.

Yeh, that was our "2nd" home ground, used to love retrieving the ball from the black berry bushes. Although it was a good ground to watch the game and score at,

Do you still hold the record for number of cream puffs demolished in an afternoon tea sitting? Wasn't it 2 dozen or so? Good to see you still out and playing despite you physical limitations

Reckon you can already set down Meadows and Aldgate to clash for the 2006-07 premiership. Both have retained most of their players and given the rivalry between them, expect the season to kick off with a real bang this week at Belair. Have heard that new Aldgate recruit Deke Smith was rated a better junior player than Mark Cosgrove when at Northern Districts. Will be interesting to see what impact he has. Notice teenager Mark Sinclair has returned to Bridgey from Sturt, he did play a game last season, but twisted his ankle .. don't field him at silly leg, just to make sure he lasts out the season!
Onkas and Uris also in the mix ... expect Mt Lofty, Funny Gully and the Baskets to struggle a bit.

Yes BM, great to see your involvement with cricket also, is there anything you don't know???
Yes I'm picking and Aldgate v Meadows GF already. Onkas and Uraidla as always will be around the mark. Dont know how SCIBS are travelling this season but they always seem to be around the mark. I think Mt Lofty will be competitive this year, with the younger players such as Noble, Nielsen and Maslin to make an impact. Also have heard rumours that they have picked up young Flinn from the Raiders and Pistola from Aldgate. So if they stick at it, there are a lot of quality young players coming through. Happy Valley for the spoon.

Uri's are going to miss Hunter big time and may not be able to post a decent score...

I'm pretty sure even Uri's would be thinking that.
BM - I too have heard that Deke should be handy, a mate of AP's.
Wallis a big loss but a few 'old faces' should return.

Quitened down a bit here.
Any word from selection nights?
Aldgate look pretty good. Should be a great first up hitout at Belair versus Meadows.
Welcome back Dyl Horne and there's a new guy in A grade that really should make some runs. Something lacking a bit at the Gate recently.

Lofty A grade is an under 23 team!!! plenty of youthful exuberence and some talent there but may get found out by the top experienced sides.

Lofty C grade will have some wiley old characters dropping back and could be a threat later in the year when the whips are cracking

As this is a footy forum good to see North Adelaide GM Glenn Elliott suiting up for the HCA red and whites also

Magpie ... Hahndorf is looking pretty settled from last season. Hahndorf would be keen to improve on 2nd and semifinalists the past two seasons ... so close by so far! Greg Hassold remains skipper and will be trying to become the A&EH leading runscorer for a third straight season. Mike Pfitzner will be all the better for a footy season after resuming from a knee reco ... may well pick up a bit more pace. Making runs appears the main problem, but while Hassold can be relied on, the rest fall away a bit. Club prodigy Matt Jaensch will have a lot of responsibility, but proved last season he's is quite capable. Perhaps needs some of his old man's patience to rub off. DORF plays Mt Barker in one-day opening round, while defending premier Nairne tackles Wistow on the hill and the turf twins Strathalbyn and Langhorne's meet at Strath.
