Guess that's what happens when none of the top batsmen in the comp are available, and the two who did play both got ducks.

Shit happens, not the first time C&CCA have been smashed in a SAMCA game, doubt it'll be the last.

Was only 2 years ago we were rolled for 81 and ATCA chased it in 7 overs dont forget.

Unfortunately with blokes being unavailable this time around, the rep side looks very ordinary both with bat and ball on paper. Coming from an outsiders view.

Not much that can be done by that either unfortunately - the carnival comes at a very difficult and stupid time of the year between xmas and NYE.. People have family stuff going on, holidays booked etc etc.

I think most batsman/bowlers in Div 1 and most of Div 2 were contacted but couldn't make the trip. In the end you can only take what's available at hand.

Think the bowling is still quite reasonable though, but the batting looks very weak.

Sitting there watching I thought bowling was reasonable.

PDCA 10/190 d C&CCA 10/65

C&CCA had them 5/65 then 7/91 but an 84 run partnership in quick time from Trav McIntyre (45) & Alex Leo (56) got the score up to 175. Last two wickets fell for 15.

Pigliacelli 3/33 off 8
Gully 3/25 off 8
Finch 2/22 off 6 (last over went for 10)
Singh 0/27 off 6
Bedgegood 0/31 off 3 - Got smashed late in Leo/McIntyre innings - took 30 off 2 (bowled 1 over 0/1 early in the inn)
A Singh 0/29 off 3 - landed them well but prob got Leo/McIntyre set, prob shouldn't have bowled him or had bowled myself before.
N Singh 022 off 2 - bowled too short and a nice enough pace to cash in.

McIver - 24
Marsden - 19
Merideth - 2
Lay - 22
Woodward 2
Cahill - 0
Leo - 56
Figallo - 4
McIntyre - 45
Carmen - 0
Warren - 7no

C&CCA 65 - just horrible.. less said the better..
N Singh - 0
R Puri - 4
F Borgas - 0
MacDonald - 0
A Singh - 12
G Singh - 26
J Finch - 0
K Shah - 3
H Singh - 0
A Pigliacelli - 0
Gully - 7no
Bedgegood - DNB

Woodward 5/12
Warren 4/39
McIntyre 1/9

McIntyre = McMullen***

With the batting was it just a case of being beaten for pace or players throwing their wickets away? The only poor result out of the games the squad has played so far, only a glitch in the system.
Kept a couple of their gun players (Lay, Merideth, Marsden) to relatively low scores which is a positive.
Good luck to the squad if there are any trials coming, otherwise go well in a few weeks!

McIntyre replaced McMullin - but because scored on the app, couldn't add McIntyre so put it under McMullen and will be changed later.

Wickets were a combination of poor shots, poor decisions and there were complaints about the pitch.

Woody was quicker than most expected, but he hit the crease hard and it jolted the matting forward, created a lump/crease/air pocket in the matting how ever you want to describe it and because Fitzroy is sand around the pitch they couldn't flatten out the matting - Warren would hit it on a length and the ball would just about roll through.

MacDonald got a stinker - bats outside leg stump as most would know, and Warren was swinging back into him, hit him well forward and the PDCA umpire was happy to raise the finger.

Shah also got given out LBW sweeping despite having bat on it.

Still the bowling was brilliant from PDCA and our guys just didn't adapt, lost too many quick wickets and went downhill rapidly from there.
