do you pay incentives? if so what are they?

An ex team mate of mine was offered a nice little deal to play out at the Lodge.

Do you mind if I ask who that may be Wiz? Or perhaps an initial[/quote
i know of 3 people now... what a joke.. people who live in glass houses shouldnt through stones..
if there is ever a game where you want dig in cause you are getting sledged it will be round 7..
it seems that the only one that agreed to play there cost you 3000 gun bowler but yet to make his debut.. his name B.Machine

Good point Norm!! Bit of a reality check obviously?
Talking about reality there boys,If we at Virginia followed all other grade 1 sides and bought half our side you blokes would get all work up and start whinging about something. 2 top quality batsman and a quick! go top and party! HOWWWWWWWWWWZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) Anyway just a small set back and the guys should bounce back next game. REALITY! I'd rather be sitting where Virginia is on the ladder compared with OTH, TWs, Sandy( where's the)creek? and the lodge! Drop another (should win game) and then drop a couple of tight ones with teams above you, then team spirit drops away! OUT COME? NO FINALS!

You Idiot, I know for a fact that Brahma Lodge havent bought anyone!! And alot of the other teams would only offer performance based awards...

Where here did I say other teams are paying players??

Dont believe you Oz!

Really Browny ?

I thought I would have built up enough credibility in my time in this comp to not be called a liar.

Thats your prerogative though.

Yes we tried to get players at Brahma, but not with big money. Thats why we are a club with 3 sides in the top 4 grades. We have no one on coin. Five teams one club. All pushing in the right direction. And even the E graders love the B.Machine. Best thing we ever did.

Why would Oz disclose who the player was? Do you even half think that if he gave you any sort of clue that you would figure it out before I did? 1/100 Oz knows who I am and also knows I'd be the only one to get even the most discreet clues given my association to the club. And if told something in confidence why would he betray a guy who he might end up wanting to play alongside as old men in 20 years time? You don't burn bridges in this town, and just because he won't tell you something don't think it means there's no truth in it. Money gets thrown around to players from all sorts of angles (I bet the Wiz himself could tell stories of clubs throwing money his way you'd have never thought possible) and EVERY club uses whatever angle they have to get players to improve themselves.

Because he'll only want it from one end, he is inconsistent and is hardly ever sighted at training, he has been a project for a few years who loses interest at times. We've persevered for years, it's better if we wait til he wants to go the extra step.

Must have the new ball....only wants to bowl from one end....hard man to please ?

Sounds like Rocco....who is the reason I'm going grey !

Only if he has to bat in the top 5 as well though......

I reckon I know who Oz is talking about also. And I agree with Graham, why the hell would or should he name the player ?

Hey Oz of course you have enough credibility and my total respect..

I just would find it very hard to believe that the lodge would have thrown money at someone...

I asked Nobsey if he was keen for a game this year but there was no talk of money!! Only incentives..

I dont expect you to name the player but I wouldnt mind hearing what deal was offered. ;)

When i moved from Teachers to Sandy, i heard that other people had heard that i was offered $2000 to sign up with them, how funny is that!! There is no way that any player is worth $2000 at this level. I was told before going to Sandy that they pay players but we have the same sort of incentive scheme as any other club, you need it to entice players to join your club. Rumours fly that all clubs buy players but 90% of the time its untrue, (note 90% Oz, before you fire up at me)

No doubt rumours fly around.

I know of one guy that would've earned in excess of $4000 at 2 separate clubs had he taken up their offers.
Coaching was involved at one club and the other was just as a player.

The money is out there.

Incentives are still a kind of way to pay players. Just better that they are performance based. There was rumors that i got paid to go accros to sandy , not true. We are all getting the same offered to us.
Back to the creek it is.
