What's everyone's thoughts of the bonus point, did it come into play much on the weekend, was everyone aware of it? I think it's a great idea, it stops teams batting first when they know they are going to flog the opposition.

2 of our captains were in positions to get bonus points but weren't aware of the rule untile I mentioned it to them. One of our sides did get the extra point.

We got skittled cheaply, beaten easily and then one of our players suffered a stroke as we were coming off of the oval, he's still in intensive care at the RAH. Our thoughts are with him and his family hoping he can make a full recovery. He is a good club-person who is always the first one to put his hand up to help, pretty devastating at 34.

Sorry to hear that news mate hope the guy is ok . Keep us posted

I went to see him today, not good, still in intensive care, wont be out before xmas, has a few young ones too.

Sorry to hear. Hope he gets well soon !

i was aware of it but to tell you the truth i didnt think of it at all on sat, even when we were 2 for 120 all i was thinking about was 50 runs with so many overs in hand.. ^:)^ ratters.. [-x [-x still has back issues.. i think its a great idea for the same reasons.. what do people think about a free hit for front foot no ball? i think that would make it a bit more exciting..

never see to many people have issues when wickets are falling or when hundreds are made, its usualy when getting spanked or getting out for a duck.. ratters is a gun cricketer as he proved on sat.. but when its not going well he seems to short arm it..doesnt mean we cant have a beer and a laugh after the game.. he gives it and takes it..

From what i understand our c grade would have picked up bonus points, their game didnt last 40 overs, they past the oppositions total in about the 13 over i think. Therefore i reckon its a great idea to introduce the bonus point this year.

I think that they are both smart enough to realize that you can't complain about facts. Westies need to lose a game though at some stage before the finals.

even when they have been 6 for 60 they have won, they always find a way of wining..
they just need to start getting some reward for the effort put in by them all during the year..

I'm happy to take my 4 A grade flags and run mate :D

I'll still defend my boys though and say once again they've lost players and continued to play good cricket. Lost their captain....again ;)

And you blokes add Darren Ellis.... Hmmm Me thinks you are trying to deflect the attention Benny. You are a smart man ;)

We have covers, as do a few others. But with the constant rain the wickets woudn't be prepared. One day games next week.
