Given it was the second time he'd picked up a bat in 10 years most people were pretty impressed with him. And have you forgotten who ran him out, it was the man you're so keen to nab from us. I'm amazed you didn't mention how you had the pom plum in front after he hit the ball into his pad halfway down the pitch off the now captain's bowling. And no runs for Sinclair against Lofty? Edging another one down leg side again for not many? And is that before or after the 5 penalty runs off the helmet behind the keeper?

However it must be said that Bridgey are looking very strong with the bat this year, batting down to number 9 last year with heaps of young guys who are bound to improve. And on the subject of Justice, with all the money Justice would have to pay back in unpaid subs to get cleared it's quite possible that the Redcaps are going to be able to afford the services of Greg Blewett for this season. Let's just hope he doesn't speak while he's at games though as he is undoubtedly the worst cricket commentator to have ever stuffed a mike up his nose.

Silky skills wrote:Theres no way it could be the Pom who played for the red caps last year, if i remember rightly he was run out for a quackshmear, and he did open the bowling, i dont remember facing him but bridgey made about 320. I dont think it was the Pom from last year, it couldnt be, he was useless. hahahaha i do remember my comments (but i was around the lads at school and did have to impress) and also sam furber is a pretty handy bowler, he doesnt open the bowling he bowls about 2nd or third change and is a wicket taker, one of the best techniques with the bat and a great fielder, and not to mention he is a top bloke... My tip for the BCC Vs Red caps game is Justice and Shae put on 100 for first wicket, then the runs keep flowing like the water in the nile, end of day one BCC 4/323 Yuill 88, Justice 64, Hoyle 29, Dunbar 55no(off 300 balls) Jaensch 0, and Furber 47no.
Lofty bat all day and make a 107, and the "saviour" to make 80

ahhh spoken like a true polotician....'s son redcapper. because youd be the only one to remember sinclairs dismissal, wuda been one of few for you that year wouldnt it?

i cant beleive we're even discussing the prospect of lofty improving - theyll still get flogged by SCIBs round 1 and i'll tip Jizmop X1 (Baskets) to knock you blokes off too.

Have heard justice isnt quite a bridgy player yet tho, so could be interesting.

TV news. Birdwood have lost a couple more and will struggle. Kersbrook have picked up Steve Dixey from Payneham and lost Justin Squiers to a knee reconstruction. Lobethal have lost Frohling but have apparently picked up a couple of Indian cricketers. Not sure if their names are Kapil Dev, Dilip Vengsaker and Romesh Binny??? :D

Cougar, has TV retained eight teams in its A-Grade this year? Any other news on how teams are shaping up?

TVCA starts this saturday 8) cant wait..

Yeah 8 teams in the As, with Mt Torrens dropping back to A2. The loss of Frohls will obviously hurt Lobey, but you'd expect them to be the fav again. Paracombe could be the big improver imo. A couple of very handy inclusions. (esp Peter Hills). Birdwood to fight Gums for the spoon i'd say.

Very good m80.

Who else have Paracombe picked up? If they've kept their side from last year, plus Hills, they'd have to be right up there, as they did make the semis last year.

Has been a good move by the TVCA to increase the number of A-grade teams, as four was a bit of a joke.

Its good to see the Cricket Silly Season is still going with all the rumours being flung around. But it will all settle very shortly with only a week to go before we kick off. What are peoples picks for the Round 1 A Grade???

Hillsy is no cert. His work will take a fair bit of his time up. McCardle is back at Paracombe from the Gullys, but was only playing 'C' grade.

Woodside have lost the Joyce's back to Woodside, and Matt 'Hooter' Johnston is having the year off. Nick 'Slim' Johns has handed in the captaincy and Aaron Galvin is returning from Sturt but has gone to Onka Valley. They may struggle.

Kersbrook have also picked up former State Junior Leg Spinner Jarred Farruiga, and Paul Collyer is returning after a year off from a shoulder operation.

Bit of a grudge match so you would expect them to field there strongest team.

We didn't opt for Crafers because of an oval shortage. We chose it because of our talent shortage. And the fact that it's closer to the Bridgy pub than the other options...

Woodside def Birdwood by 50+ runs. Dave Wescombe and James Marshall are joint captains and Matt 'Hooter' Johnston IS playing and made 67 Saturday. Not all doom and gloom for Warriors.

Kersbrook def Lobethal by 10 runs. Andrew Wehrman 53 and 4 wickets the standout.

We played Lofty in a couple of T20 games on Saturday. Allegedly the second game featured their A/1 players (except Staten - injured, and Justice - ???). They weren't much chop and we beat them comfortably with ony 6 of our players from last years A/2 GF available. Fleet & Fielke in top form with the willow.

In the first game we also won. It was our bowlers that did the job. Mylor A/3s will bowl some sides out cheaply this year I'd suggest. Danny Cooper bowled well for the Redcaps and Matty Pistola played a great knock - Lofty have to play him in the A/1s, surely.

Oh, and Manos turned out for us too. :-)

Did you play Dutchy?

I lost count of the amount of catches dropped and misfields from the so called Lofty A grade....

If they beat SCIBs this weekend then I think Mylor C grade will be having a crack at A's next year
