He had a pretty average year with the bat last year. Woodville South knocked back the opportunity to play A1 last year because they didn't have enough experience to compete, but when I saw them last year they were old bastards and not many of them looked like they wanted to be out there.

Yeah fair enough...

A few coaches announced for A1/A2 sides of late...

Ingle Farm - Gordon Smith
Port District FCC - Tracy Sandery
Fulham - Tim Hart
Walkerville - Sam Turner

Still a few jobs open:
Modbury?
Unley?

Port District - Tracy who ? Bat / Bowl ?

C'mon play fair

It's bloody only just ticked over to July!

It's great. I'm loving the enthusiasm. It's mostly fitness work for the blokes who aren't playing footy. But a couple of blokes had nets last week.

I reckon I heard the redbacks only started last week
TOS batters would want to be hitting 100s round 1 if in the nets already

just getting cob webs out. being a small core group you can really ease your way back in, im sure other teams would be starting very shortly. like dogwatcher said the main session is core strength and fitness.

Any truth in the rumour that the great man Gavan Carey is thinking of retiring?

Would be a horrible loss to the ATCA and cricket in general..........

Although he has considered it, he is currently sitting 2nd for most club runs with Jimmy Tsekinis coming a close third. I think he will continue to play, a loyal servant and good club man.......he has achieved most things except for a premiership! Hopefully next season is his year!

Awesome pick up for Brahma, should be a great appointment.

Wonder if Brahma have any $$ that may entice Jets players to Brahma to play under Ants...

Pleased to see my request for an account was finally granted.
I am a former Penfield player who had been with the club for a while.
Penfield have not completely folded as such, just not fielding any teams this season but still operating as a club in administrative terms with every possibility of being able to field teams in the future.
Any further questions feel free to ask.
Slowly getting very keen for cricket as footy gets to the pointy end.

Welcome. Do you know what is happening with all of the boys that played at Penfield last year. I see Gordon Smith is coaching Ingle Farm and Jay Indraratne is coaching Golden Grove. I assume a few have followed to those clubs?

Quite a few have gone with Gordon to Ingle Farm, from my understanding there may be at least one that has gone to Golden Grove (as he originally came with Jay from there to Penfield). One has gone out to play at Echunga and a few others are yet to be confirmed.

None that I know of. I was surprised to see the talk of ties between Willaston and Penfield, but I know that a few players have gone there in previous years, most notably Max Bornholdt who I think is captain/coach out there

Will anyone be playing on the main deck at Argana Park this year if Penfield aren't using it?
