Name on the cup is all that matters - to say they basically lost it is IMHO a comment made by a very bitter and twisted individual

didn't rosies finish top that year?
if so should they then be awarded the premiership similar to a wash out or hot weather

i absolutely agree, and i think thats what rosies thought when they needed one run to win and the batsmen went to slog it over the bowlers head. he had been battign all day so it's not liek he couldn't have pushed an easy single to win. but i guess a silly mistake

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what sals west do they will never win a grand final, the only way they will is if they drop down a couple of grades...
Dont let facts get in the way of a good statement mate.

From my time involved at the club they won in 92/93, 96/97, 98/99, 00/01 and 05/06.

You my friend, are a moron.
05/06 wasn't your premiership. you won on default. Rosies had you that day if there wasn't a misunderstanding. You basically lost that one aswell, jsut very luck to get your name on the cup.
Basically lost ? Scores were tied....how does that make it a loss ? Who won the matches between the 2 clubs during the season ? Could've used that to break the deadlock also.....but we dont go by what ifs obviously.

Poor cricket shot by Russ if you ask me...very silly boy.
Spot on cantbatcantbowl, I think you will find that in about 93/94, 94/95 the went to the Churches Ass. and got touched up in the GF aswell. It might be a good idea to drop a few div.

Lets get back on track and look forward to a big day of cricket this LONG weekend
Everyone sticks their tips in so I might have a go as well

Vir v SC SC to win easily too strong and will bounce back after recent defeats
ATCO v TW No fairy tales here for Groovers boys If they bat first, all out for under 100
BL v R&C Better game than 2v8 BL kids going Ok at the moment but dont be suprised by upset
SW v OTH Westies hate being beaten and will bounce back in style

Just a note regarding Gd 2. I see some games are being played without umpires for the next 3 weeks. Not a good possi with finals around the corner

Coming from a rival club, it takes a lot of guts to get up Salisbury West. They have been the benchmark for all sports for 25 years. Your brave people to rubbish them. They have smacked us, when I played time and time again. The way to improve your own club is too lift the benchmark and if you get half as good as them, you have done well

Just like Daniel Jenner had been batting all day before his brain fade ? You can never predict whats going to happen.

By getting touched up, do you mean Para Vista getting the runs 9 down ?

Please explain the logic behind dropping a grade due to continually playing in grand finals ? Obviously a smart individual

Thats a great call, i also remember clubs voted that season to change the rule so if it was a draw, thats what the final result was

Talking about dropping down a grade!, I hear Virginia finished runners up for 5 concecutive years before winning last year. 8) And only then they were elevated to grade one, WHY?, Clubs like TW, R&C and a few others are allowed to come and go as they please, Then straight into A1's :? As 4 s/west they have had a few good patches over past 40 years, same as most clubs you go through phases, players retire players are blooded and mistakes are made and club hero's are born, loyalty is good to see. As you may have noticed on previous posts, WE AT VIRGINIA HATE EVERYONE! Yes! only on the oval though!

in the last years grand final [ two wells won] there was a few sledges that back fired..
so i wonder if they are taking a dif approach this year? or are they still shocked about losing on that big day in march?
or a bit of both?

I've only seen one game this season. Certainly think Salisbury West focused on the business end of the season.

Heard that Salisbury West have been focused on the business end of the season for the past few years!!!! Nothing will change, come Grand Final (if they make it) and they will lose. Its in their heads that they cant win, certain winners every year!

So you're allowed to have an opinion but someone else isn't allowed to have an opinion that you're a clown? The site is for all to share their thoughts, not just the ones that either you or anyone else like. If you can't handle anyone firing a shot then don't fire first.
