I have this year seen three people hit in the head playing in the D Grade. The first, a very capable youngster from Happy Valley to a very slow bowler chipping his tooth. The second Benny Thomas trying to hit it out of the park and on Saturday a number 8 taking a swing.
All of these preventable.
I notice in C and D grade there are less people wearing a helmet than in A grade.
After that nasty injury Craig Thomas suffered a couple of years back wicket keeping I would of thought more thought than bravado would have been the go.
Fataberton I notice your team are mostly older yet only one I think, No 11 wearing a helmet.
The smartest of the lot. I understand that perhaps they grew up without using one but they are not getting better. Even Pud at 49 now wears one.
TWE the D grade hit up 271 on Crafers off 35 overs with Lighty finishing off nicely with a very quick 47 at the end. We went through them fairly quickly spreading the wickets with Jack Gardner and Jarrad Enright bowling very well. A few weeks ago we had 4 bowlers in the team and this week we had 9.
