Well there was a chance to talk about another team, CF. But you didn't!

Again...
You don't HAVE TO read it. Or add something from your team of choice, or something interesting. You're zip from 2 as it stands "fan".

What happened to the prediction Aldgate B's were going to be super strong. Rolled for 188 by Mylor of all teams.

Mylor were strong last year, got beaten after f!#king up after a massive opening stand in their semi. I'm not overly surprised they beat Aldgate, but the Gate still have a few in each grade to come back. As do probably a few teams.

Cricket Fan, I reckon the Mt. Lofty D Grade are the most entertaining team in Hills cricket. 80 overs of pure gold from those young lads every saturday. They are definiately lacking in experience (and talent) but they have some of the most classic characters going around. Keep it up Red Caps D Grade. PREMIERS 06/07.

Mylor would have to be early favorites for the A2 crown considering they have likes of Fielke, Stedman, the Coopers, new bloke Bawden and another star recruit in Gifford ... maybe they may even picked up a couple of handy teenagers from Echunga in next few years, would set them up for push into A-grade. Would like to see young Podge make a few more runs ... as a local product, he deserves to be in the side instead of some of the foreign legion ... you want to keep his mum cooking the bbq at the matches!

believe me lads if you saw the game mylor v aldgate, youd know its too early to pick favourites for the flag. there wasnt too much good cricket for either side. half of both sides hadnt picked up bat or ball since last year. fielke made runs but honestly didnt look like any thing to fear, gifford was bowling slower than A. bowes and on the other hand pistols bowled an absolute treat and made steadman look second rate all day. the gate had two main players away the second week and the first week they looked ordinary with the bat. d.horne will be good this year but i think M. coats should go back to C grade where he belongs, maybe even D's.

You'd bloody hope so - should have won the whole bloody show last year...

btw, Al Cooper can't bat.

btw - are the Cabbage-eater Bs any good this year?

Why do we always seem to start the season against Aldgate or Uraidla (or both)?

I would doubt they play the most entertaining cricket in the Hills, because of the reasons you mention (lack of talent), but hey if they are out having fun and taking the piss i think that is brilliant. More people should it at that level. But, when people say they are awesome players and they are gun cricketers is a joke because if they were that good they would be playing A Grade, simple.

CF just chill out there a bit big fella. i think most D grade cricketers realise theyre not A Graders but dont try to stop them from saying someone played well and that theyre entertaining. i happen to know most of the lofty D's and i truely believe it would be one of the best days of cricket playing with them. TOOL!

Wolverine, hows the big toe mate, or should i call you coach?? i believe i made a well compiled 1. or though you seem to think i made a duck. the 1 run is in our book and im sticking to it. so damn close to having bacon bowl you 1st ball, howd that feel.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe a certain member of the Mt. Lofty D Grade has played 20 odd A Grade games but prefers to play in the mighty Super D's! Go figure CF.

Hey GREATDROPPY Dont worry about cookie getting a game at Mylor - His mums BBQ was used as incentive to attract the foreign legion.
Maybe if podge didn't eat so much of it he would be quicker between wickets and wouldn't get run out

I love this Mylor "foreign legion" stuff. Hilarious.

The bulk of the side is made up from a nucleus of kids we've had at the club for 10+ years. Sure, a few left in between to test out other pastures, but they've pretty much all returned (Warbo, Fleetdog, AJ Cooper being prime examples).

And yeah, we've picked up a few outsiders to fill the gaps, but we aren't alone in that. At least we aren't paying any of them.

Maybe if other clubs had the same level of ambition and didn't treat their young players like shit then they'd also be looking forward to 10 years of good times.

Give me a list of the top 20 Hills players Under 25 and I'll reakon that we'd have a fair representation in that list, either with current players or players who began at the black and whites.

All we need is Ginge back and we'd be sorted!
