IDEA FOR A 20/20 COMP

16 teams (made up of the A grade sides from div1 and div2)

Prize Money

Played in FA CUP style where all 16 teams go into a hat and are randomly drawn against each other with the first name out the hat being the home team. Except for the Grand Final which would be played at a neutral venue preferebly at one of the centeralized grounds to maximise attendance.

Knockout comp, so if you win your threw, you loose goodbye. The competition will then only take four rounds to be completed.

Grand Final to be ran similar to the SA Amauter Soccer Cup Final in which teams stand for national athem before the game, and are presented with runners-up and winners medal after the game.

Only concern would be when could we fit in 4 weeks of games, Options include
- Find 4 Saturdays throughout the season (like SAASl do with their cup)
- Sundays
- Thursday night (most teams train then) 6:00 - 6:30 start playing games during daylight savings
- Wednesday night (like old 20/20 comp) but games have to start later than the 5:30 start.
-Friday night with start time around 6-6:30
- Sunday evening/night on Public Holiday weekends

Good idea except i think you would have to cut the season short by a couple of weeks which would see some clubs only playing eachother once. The issue with trying to play cricket on other days than saturday is the very common factor of family of work commitments. Weeknight cricket would be good so long as we could strike a deal with Salisbury North to play the game under lights because its hard to get a game in and finished in under 2 hours. Awesome format though i think it would be a massive hit if it got underway, especially as catchit said with a bit of incentive with prize money
Get that corn outta my face!!
