Lofty have fielded 4 solid teams for the first time in a while. Really good signs for the redcaps at the moment. With a few more players yet to come in the teams (particularly the b's and c's) will get stronger in a few weeks.

Don't expect too much from Browny at this stage, he will probably take a few games to shake out the cobwebs. His pace will definitely worry a few though.

As Dutchy said, now we need to perform on the park too.

they have a new opening bowler that is by far the quickest in the association.

This New opening bowler is TaraSPANKO ? or someone else Razor?

Also good to see ya Flying the Flag for the A+EHCA Raz as there is a Perception out there that we are the Poor relation of country cricket. Unfortunately it may be true cos there just seems to be so many young talented ex cricketers around these days doing other things - Working, surfing, Golfing, Lawn Bowls, Tennis, Fishing, and the list goes on and on.
Are the other Associations having the same trouble as us?

One Positive for the A+EHCA has over the other neighboring Associations is that we have a Number of Turf Pitch ovals which has resulted in this year Langhorne Creek being programmed to host a SACA XXXX Gold Cup 1 day match between Sturt and Southern Stingrays on Sunday November 9th. All Welcome. Unfortunately Taity will be unavailable for Sturt due to a Shield Game starting the next day but may still be in Attendance.

I dont know his name and have never met him but have been told he is 6 foot 5 and very sharp..

Sounds like C Grade HCA program is in trouble or as the Pres put it today "some turmoil", may be down to 6 teams by the time a revised draw is put together. The C grade comp has looked to be a problem since the AGM when only 5 teams nominated. Not suprising considering the way in which the grade has operated in years gone by. It has been full of stoned and drunken hacks, eg Clarendon & Past Eastern Ranges Teams on and off for a few seasons. I know a lot of blokes that just dont wanna play against that anymore and therefore some clubs just arent interested in C Grade.

might only be a problem this year, once clubs see that those blokes/teams arent around anymore they should be back in C grade next season

Dutchy I am with u on this one, glad for no calls, the Spring racing has been good.
The cricket format seems to be losing a lot of followers in recent times is 20/20 the solution? Although some negatives on this forum, regarding that format?
Other sports are making a big impact, what is the future of cricket in the hills?

I think the future of cricket in Not only the Hills but ALL associations is a Very interesting Question. Peoples lifestyles are always evolving and for cricket to stay popular and strong, Association officials are going to have to LISTEN to what people want and change formats to suit them otherwise numbers of players will continue to decline.
In A+EHCA there are only 6 'A' grade teams despite there being 12 clubs and this indicates to me that many players dont want to play 2 day cricket at a serious level but rather play in more relaxed lower grade comps where there is less committment needed. I would imagine that even with the clubs with 'A' grade sides, that they would have bugger all fringe 'A' players pushing for a spot, rather they would be content to play in the lower grades.
As much as i think 2 day cricket still plays an important role in the development of players, it is clear to me that the majority of players would rather play 1 dayers and 20/20 matches.

Hello All,

First time poster, long time follower.

Just want to hear peoples opinions on that Brown bowler from Lofty.
I heard that he was going to be the quickest bolwer in the hills.
Where did he come from?
