Agree totally plus having Saturday only cricket will encourage a lot more volunteers to get involved. I know one very old scorer who would certainly be involved if it was kept to just Saturdays - then again, he is just a blind hack *grins*

Has anyone heard of when or if the Grade Cricket Review Report will be made available to the public?

Surely it has to be soon.

Interesting that some of these changes will require SACA constitutional changes. Which means a vote by the members I bet a fair proportion of those couldn't name all 13 home grounds of the clubs.....this isn't going to end well.

Perhaps Aerie or Willo can confirm but was told last night Jacob Burridge is off to Port from WT to take over the back up keeping role to Ludemann, Monger apparently has moved on after being left out of Port's successful finals campaign last season.

Correct Shark Hunter. Burridge was offered the keepers spot in Port's A Grade, he had sent mixed messages last season, sometimes saying he wanted to concentrate on his batting, then changing saying he wanted to keep. Obviously his main wish is to be Wicketkeeper in A Grade and he felt that would not happen at West Torrens.

Having come thru the juniors and been given ample opportunities, is pretty disappointing. He has been carried for his batting the last couple of seasons, one stage nearly doing a "Greg Chappell" with seven ducks in a row, but the Club persisted with him as they could see the talent he had. He only just started to show some form at the end of last season, so think he is just about ready to be solid A Grade batter, good get by Port!

Think Daryl Monger is playing on, was obviously disappointed to miss the A Grade Premiership last year having played there so long and started the year Captain, but will be giving it another shot, maybe not keeping then.

Southern Boomerangs feature in National Indigenous Squad
Wednesday 18 June 2014

Cricket Australia has today announced an initial squad of 26 Indigenous players from around Australia that will have the chance of touring Darwin in mid-September. The squad, to be reduced to 13 players, includes four members of the Southern Boomerangs squad. Ayden McGregor-Baptista (SACA U/17), Tyrell Sinclair (SACA U/17), Charlie Holmes (SACA U/19) and Luke Lavender (SACA U/19) have all been named in the initial squad.

Each player will take part in their respective age group state pre-season trainings and their progress during this time will factor into the squads final selection. Ayden and Luke have previously won the South Australian Cricket Association State Indigenous Player of the Year award and played in the inaugural West End Premier League in season 2013/14. Charlie and Tyrell are both handy hard hitting left hand all-rounders who have enjoyed impressive Grade cricket seasons for their respective clubs Kensington and Tea Tree Gully.

This is a massive achievement for SA and our aboriginal cricket program, we have never had this much representation in previous years!

Yeah hopefully a few of the lads can make the final 13.

Tyrell is a great lad. He is a very fluent batsmen who makes the craft look very easy. Im hoping he has a big year in our 16reds and forces his way into the seniors. Very good slip fielder as well, safe as houses

It could only be WT which, despite their struggles last year, would have 3 clubs that have played in (2 that have won) GFs in the last 4 years all together. Would make a very strong club.

Have also heard that the Prospect/Uni merger proposal is gathering some momentum....

West Torrens have no intention of merging so its not them in a 3 team cartel. Mybe its Adelaide Im hearing they dont have a coach players leaving and have been left in a finanacial mess by a previuos administrator.

Think all clubs mentioned in the review report have no intention on merging until they know what incentives are on the table.... you would be silly not to.
