why is it they choke come finals time?? thats not being nasty just a valid
question??

Cheers...we need to win this week to make it. Lose and we're out, simple.

I'll answer that for you -

GF 1 - Played a quality Central Districts side gunning for 3 in a row. Our first GF with a young group and were outplayed. Didn't make enough runs and was always going to be hard to defend 120odd. Had them 8/90 when Jimmy North dropped Craig Laird...that hurt. Wouldn't call it a choke after avoiding relegation the season before.

GF 2 - The tie. Rosies finished top after the minor round. They had us on toast and we took 5/15 to scramble a tie. A lot dont agree with it, but the records show we won a Grade 1 flag.

GF 3 - The one that really hurt. By far and away the best team all year and we'd been building to this for 3 seasons. 120 minutes of poor cricket cost us big time. Credit to Billy who had an outstanding match and pretty much single handedly beat us. Cricket is a funny game and this one showed it. Choke....yep.

GF 4 - Lost Adam Ozolins, Rocco Illuminato, Shane Nobes, Andrew Parkhouse and Jimmy North from the season before. Take the equivalent players of any other club....Any club and they are not playing finals period. A great effort to be there but were beaten by a far better side in Two Wells. No way would I call this one a choke.

All in all, I think the choker tag is a bit of a myth. As pointed out by Grahaml....only one other club has won more grade 1 flags. I have played in 4 so I think the club is still going alright.... ;)

Cant really remember mate. Not a lot of depth in the comp unlike the late 90's and early 00's so the chances are we probably did.

How many times in a decade has two wells pulled this stunt? It can't be good for the PDCA. The players are only there for the money! TWO WELLS grade 1 side is big on self praise! but lacks club loyalty, These player do not give a rats ass about the younger cricketers at the club. take catchit, he is don bradman with tatts. read his posts. ;) If your are so good! why don't you play district cricket?

Generally as a side you would like a good strong hit out against a top side to get you cherry ripe for the big games

All bar one season have been walk overs. We had a close one against Eastern Park when Kevvy was playing for them and that was the year we played Rosies. Might be some merit in it. Although we beat a quality Two Wells side in the semi the season after also....just wasn't close. If only we'd played that type of cricket the following week.
