I'm on it....Just struggling to think of a keeper. I've played with a couple of standouts, just never really against any.

There'll be some unlucky omissions -

Darren Ellis
Nathan Petrus
Anthony Heidrich
Ben Stamatovich
Jamie Sibbick
Kevin Thomas
Dwayne Jones
Tony Carpentieri
Mark DeBrenne
Sean O'Brien
Mark DeJong

I make no apologies for leaving anybody out of that bowling attack. By far and away they are the guys that challenged me the most.....OB being the standout.

DeBrenne as keeper is an interesting one. Not the greatest gloveman or batsman but an absolute warrior who you'd want in the trenches with you. Would play hard and chirp the shit out of you and always make important runs.

The batting was a different story. In nearly 200 PDCA games I've played against a lot of quality.....apologies to - Burdon, Marslen, Pickering, Heinrich, Laird, Bitmead, Marschallek, Sellars to name a few. I'm sure plenty more have slipped my mind also.

Anyway....there it is. Feel free to throw abuse in disagreeance 8)

True...

And certain players would always make runs/take wickets against some sides and not others. Hence varying opinions.

My side or MPM's ?

DE smoked us every season when playing for Elizabeth. He and Pickers would always get them away.

I rated Nathan very highly.....a couple of 600 run seasons back when the comp had a lot more depth too.

I got stuck into him (lucky) a couple of times...

But yes....good shape and pace, very much like OB. He was a class act and a top bloke. Had many good battles with him.

Oz, did you face much of Sonneman (CD) or Verity (OTH), I'm pretty sure Verity used to open bowl with Sellars, left armer. You have a pretty impressive list there, a few other candidates could be A.King(GC), J.Robins(SG), A.Prior(TW), ther used to be another left-armer from Two Wells that used to open with Prior, I can't think of his name atm, he had some pace behind him at times. I've seen Rob Howe and Dave Dohleguy score freely in the past when we've thrown everything at them, I suppose your hands are a bit tied on the subject as you have stated "opposition", there would be a few Salisbury Westians I'd have in there.

Thats why I said opposition....I'd be a bit biased otherwise I reckon.

Dave Verity...Yep, pretty much caught the end of him. As well as Laverty from Brahma. Both bowled with good wheels for sure. Sonneman...nope, not familiar with him mate and I never faced Prior either.

Johnny Robins was a quality player definitely.

Dogleg, Dobbo and Kingy were very good players too and I did think of those guys. I am happy with my selections though. And I didn't see the best of Nadebaum, Watson and Richard from Elizabeth either...man they were strong.

I mean with Westies, where do these guys rank...Drake, North, Kershaw, Elliott, Trimboli, Conole to name a few. Then you go back to Harrison, Curtin, Peter Lee, Andy Watherston etc.

Some very good players have come through this competition.
