Game 2

Kersbrook vs Gumeracha - Paracombe vs Lobethal

Game 3

Palmer vs Gumeracha - Paracombe vs Woodside

Final at 6:30 under lights.

Sounds like a top day. 8) Pity we wont be there!

Any news on your A2s cougar? Fielding a team after xmas?

We have them in the last game of the season. Would be terrible preparation for finals not playing for 2 weeks.

Hoping our A2s/Modbury Football Club can get some more numbers out. Doesn't sound promising for them though, after winning 3 cricket flags in a row and the prospect of them playing A1 footy next year. Reckon their interest will dwindle towards the end of the season.

Well done to the TTG/Peter Sleep C.C. for running a long but good day for inaugral Torrens Valley 20/20 Challenge. The Gullies with Sleepy and KC, made sure the day was enjoyable for the players and well organised. Lenswood CC also did a good job in being a late minute replacement for a team that pulled out at late notice.

Game 1 Kersbrook def Lenswood - Woodside def Lobethal

Game 2 Kersbrook def Gumeracha - Paracombe def Lobethal

Game 3 Lenswood def Gumeracha - Woodside def Paracombe

Final - Kersbrook def Woodside

More one day silverware for the Cavaliers and Players of the Carnival IMO

Bowler: Brian Quill
Batsman: Nck Johns
Allrounders: Andrew Wehrman/Paul James

Seems one Big, Big Hitting Left Hander from Woodside drew the attention of the TTG 'A' grade coach, who has invited him to join the Bulls in their 20/20 matches next season. The game is well suited to the hard hitting batsman, and caught notice after putting several balls over the TTG Club rooms!

Well done Cougar and the Kersbrook boys on winning the cup on saturday. Clearly the best team over the 3 matches.

Despite the last minute decision meaning that we struggled to find 11 available players it was good to be involved. Great to end the day with a win over Gum :) Found the bottom pitch to be interesting to say the least. Shame we didn't get a run on the main oval.

Thanks to TTG and Kc for organising a well run event.

Lenswood did well at such late notice to round up a team and the Pertaringa track was better than the Balkana one. Poor form by Palmer though, probably still upset about the 'Colley gate'

Interested it was the BIG Left Hander TTG are looking at.

Not Joking. If P.Sleep gets the TTG gig next season, he'll be invited for their 20-20 comp. District Cricket has fallen somewhat, and it's only for the bash and crash of 20-20, which is what the Big Fella does. A lot District Clubs have guest players in the 20-20 comp (e.g Nathan Bassett) and the addition of the Woodside Left Hander would bring a few interested onlookers.

after having a few of the amber ales over the festive season the topic of big fish in small ponds came up and one name kept coming up. one brock gifford who plays for mylor i am lead to believe. from what i here this bloke rates himself as a bit of a cricketer/footballer/boxer and has played plenty of A grade district in brisbane and has played for QLD 2nd XI. this resume along with the fact he is only 30, 31 next week, would surely see him not just playing but dominating hills a grade but is happy to just play hills c grade and then boasts about his avg of 200+ for the season. what a joke!! all he ever wants is to be the big fish in the small pond!! how bout u step out of your comfort zone giff and toughen up!! start walking the walk instead of always talking the talk!!!

Word is he smashed you all round the paddock yesterday in back yard cricket Jimmy Recard - so is your spray just a little tantrum because of this ?
The January tranfer window is now open Jimmy maybe you could tranfer to the Pipers C Grade and knock up that first ton you so badly want, although word has it that the Great Southern is no more than Hills C Grade.
Big positive is that you wouldn't have to spend 70 overs in the field BIG FELLA !
I am sure after a few times of mum holding your hand while you VENTURED OUT OF WILLUNGA you would be ok.
Gif is away come finals , so maybe you could slot into the number four spot.
By the way i think you have imbeleshed the truth a little about QLD 2nd 11 and A grade district. Don't let the truth get in the way of a good spray.
NAh ! good first up spray !!!

I know brock quite well, and yes he is probably playing in a grade well below his standard but he is happy there, making truckloads of runs and helping the younger players develop.
As you said he is only 30 but he moves like a 50 year old.
If he is happy playing c grade the let him be, he will single handedly get them into the final and then when he is absent hopefully some of the younger blokes can step up.

P,S, lets face it he isnt good eneough to make the mylor b grade, thats how good they are!!! :D
