Definitely not a pis mrint - The big "Rock Rooter" Bowled extremely well in 2 spells... He didn't even have to rely on Grandpa Popeye gifting him any either. His 5 for in the first spell included both Wescombe and Johns for ducks!!! The third time they've both gone for none this season. Surely a worrying trend for the Warriors coming into the finals?

Loby seem to have hit form at the right time with their performance vs the Pirates.

What odds the outright for the Cavaliers? Gum might be lookin for an early finish so they can start concentrating on the upcoming footy season... - but thats what they said about cricket at the end of last years footy season!!! :Hangman:

Hey Cougar, That would have to be Apples highest score wouldn't it? :finga: still hasn't cracked the ton like his big brothers :butthead: Ha Ha Ha!!!

Yes Big Ship, the Wescombe/Johns Duck act has happened for 3 fortunate clubs this season.

And the most consistent batsman in the TVCA comp this season, Paul James, still can't crack the ton, much to his middle brothers amusement.

Not good enough would be my guess.
Has had 3 'A' grade inngs this season of 1, 8 & 12
'B' grade inngs have been 7, 16, 20, 31 104, 14 and now 260 (equivalent to about 100 on a normal ground).
So apart from the 104 (at Wistow - worth about 50 on a normal ground) there have been no scores of note to warrant an 'A' grade spot til now. Even then he might not want to play 'A's anyway seeing that their 'B's will play finals whilst their 'A's (reigning premiers) are stuck on the bottom of the ladder.

lets talk finals. what are people s thoughts on the hills finals this yr. probably lackof respect for bridgy who will finish top. Probably the same as uris who havent lost s yet. while still favs in my eyes would have to b meadows while onkas not far behind them.

Bridgy- dangerous on their day. always seem to scramble a score with the likes of hoyle, golding, sweet, yuil and even bever in the lower order chipping in. their bowling is donaldson and hoyle but they do the job well. doubt they can go all the way.

Uris- brown and hunter both super bats, with back up like scahpel and carter. their batting order does look shacky with lots of kids in the side. bowling is ok, sutton and hunter leading their wickets but pretty even spread of bowlers. not a long shot as they have beat onkas but meadows look too good.

meadows- reidsare in super form. tonkin in middle order is dangerous. williamson hits hard. bat a long way down with even dudley being able to hit it a bit. bowling is the best in the comp. tarque, duds, chad, row reid and the new spiner give plenty of oprions with variety. favs for the flag

onkas- kempy leads thier hopes. 2nd best bat in the hills. hasnt set the comp a light but its all about finals. jugy and elliot need to make runs as well. gleno and pd could rip through any line up on their day. should ake the grand final for a repeat of last yr.

TV Final Round Results

Kersbrook 3/422 def Gumeracha 8/311 (T.Symons 60, Steve Kavanagh 43, S.Pollock 61, C.Cornish 32, Sean Kavanagh 41, K.Pearce 5/92)

Woodside def Palmer but lost outright

Next Week's TVCA 'A' grade Semi Finals should look like this

Kersbrook vs Palmer at Gumeracha
Lobethal vs Woodside at Lobethal

Looks like Gum put a decent fight. Witnessed a clean hitting century from your Skipper yesterday Cougar. He certainly enjoyed the small confines of Lenswood oval  Credit to the 7 or 8 local lads that actually rocked up and gave us a game.

Likely finals in the TVCA A2s-

Lenswood(1) v Cambrai(4)
Eden Valley(2) v Mt Torrens(3)

Interestingly the top 4 is made up of clubs without an A grade side, bit unusual not to see one of Kersbrook, Lobethal or Woodside there.

I take my comment back about Kemp being the best bat in the Hills, after Saturday it seems any old hack can get him out ;)

Oh no! Andrew Frohling's First Century as a Batsman  Now he's gonna think he's a genuine allrounder

With 4 non A grade sides in the A2 finals, wouldn't it be fitting next season, to make the TVCA 'A' grade an 8 team comp again?

Whats with the HCA posting stuff all lately? A Meyer Shield hangover perhaps...? I would've thought that just before finals it would be the perfect time of year for everyone to fire up and start getting stuck into each other! certainly are a different breed

After taking a keen local interest in all things cricket this season my predictions for March glory are as follows:

HCA - Meadows (will stand up come crunch time)
A&EH - Nairne (in a canter)
TVCA - Kersbrook (too good for Lobethal this time)
