James 07 what i was trying to say is that if Sandy were to go to Turf it takes more than someone to turn up and sit on a roller for an hour a day...
Good luck to them if they do, there is just alot of work involved in going to play turf... Would have liked to keep playing against them in the para districts though... enjoyed playing against them...
It would shag their junior program, the oval seems to be very dewey in the mornings even when the weather is quite good in the metro area. I'm not a big fan of turf wickets in the PDCA for juniors, Penfield have one and quite often their games are called off when other ones go ahead. The PDCA wont allow turf clubs to host finals either.
It's Sandy's call at the end of the day, they have been a big part of the PDCA history and I have developed a fair bit of admiration for their club and many of their players over the years, it would be sad to see them go, always loved playing out there.
Hey James, do you remember my accidental catch in the 20/20 game out there.
Yes i do remember the catch i was taking off for the first run thinking about a second and end up running straight off the ground instead.
LM i think you will find if Sandy gets turf they will play in the Barossa comp and the younger kids will still play hard wicket as we are unable to have all junior sides play at home with the 6 teams they have.
So im not sure about shagging the junior program, i believe any junior program is largely based upon doing the work to get the kids out to your club then keeping them there by teaching them the game of cricket, so im not sure a turf deck will detract away from that.
