Well Two Wells was a few reasons. Didnt agree with the direction they were heading . Training was non existing and i felt my cricket was suffering because of that. The change has done me good. The Pines was a strange one. After taking them to a Div2 flag against a very strong Williaston that year they recruited a playing coach which was almost saying to me that i was not good enough to take them into grade 1. We then went down as you know to grade 2 the next year. That was when i went back to Two Wells.[/quote]

The direction was winning a flag!!!!

Actually as i remember it norms move was influenced by catchit and bomber all deciding to go and after that it was the move that then kicked catchit and the boys into a heavy recruitment drive that landed them the flag and there are plenty of current posters on here that know exactly what money was on offer by all clubs involved at the time as players were approached from both sides of the fence.

Alot of people still seem to think that two wells players got paid alot of money.. 8 players got paid $200 at the end of the first year( wouldn't say that was alot of money) and the other 2 seasons it was a bunch of mates playing together and no MONEY INVOLVED.. I reakon bomber himself would have been paid more than our 8 players put together let alone ratters, yourself, james and others.. Not having a crack at you norm but just letting people know that two wells players didn't get paid as much as people think....

wouldnt expect anything less  rather than try and save a sinking ship it is easier to just jump,i have heard the training sessions were very average, but you being the most talented cricketer living in the town i would of thought you could of put your hand up to try and change the direction in which you thought it was heading, i guess at the end of the day money talks!!!!

in my first year in grade 3 i thought that two wells would never make grade 1 with the way it was run and the lack of depth we had.. after winning the grade 3 flag we picked up frank dimasi anderson nottle fuller valente i thought we would give grade 1 a real shake as we nearly did[except someone decided to take on one of the best fielders in the comp  ].. then picked bomber and huey up and still couldnt win a flag.. then when dimasi fuller bomber left and myself for that matter but then felt i had unfinished buisness to do.. so i decided to go on and try to get two wells a grade 1 flag.. and when we went through the batting order huey was at 5 its then when i new we would need some help to get that flag.. the blokes that came over are the best bunch of blokes i have played cricket with and dont regret a thing.. grade 1 flag?? priceless!!

Mate do you want to know the honest truth, no one wanted to listen, at that stage everyone was happy to just be average. It was just going to happen because we had the players. It was two guys ways or no way. So there was no sign on fees paid out to any one? Or anything like that. I know what i was offered by someone at the club to come back. And as for your sarcastic comment about me being the most talented player in the town , **** you! Never once have i said that, i might have blown my own trumpet every now and again but never did i claim to be the best, far from it.Have you or are you involved at the club? If not **** off and dont talk shit. Its ok to hide behind a name so no one knows who you are and have an opinion isnt it?

So i went to sandy for money? Yea thats what i did it for. Paid off my house in three years, my car, kids schooling all done for life. Mate you wouldnt know what goes on or what money changes hands would you? Speaking from the outside looking in. Sandy is by far the most proffessional club. Great bunch of blokes to play cricket with and drink with after games. Its blokes like you that make us want to change comps.

Sorry mate have to agree to disagree on this one. Why sprout off then what people got to sign on? I believe it was not the club but a few guys involved in the club that were throwing it around. Is this not correct?

200 bucks , I got nothing the first year i played at Sandy and we won the GF. Oh sorry free drinks sunday night at the club. So i did it for the money? Its funny everyone thinks we are on a Million bucks at Sandy. I am surprised we can afford to put in a turf pitch with all the money we pay out. If i was playing for money i would have gone back to Two Wells when Stama did. I got offered more to go back there than i have made in three years at Sandy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you still think the only reason i went back to two wells was for money norm? There was a offer and oz does know what the offer was as he was offered the same when we all left.. I didnt except any money for going back and instead used that money to try and get you and bomber back.. When that failed we went elsewhere.. Yes we paid a few blokes but the rest followed to be part of a good team.. My question is what is the big deal about paying blokes when every football team pays for a premiership every year? Also you can say what you like about two wells but it was your best mates running it from the start of when i started there.. If it wasnt for some blokes joining the committe later on two wells would of folded 5 years ago..people left saying we dont believe in paying players.. What a piss weak excuse from piss weak people..

norm.. What about if ratters and and a few others left and oz said he would but some other club offered him 500 for sign up.. Would sandy creek match that price to get him at there club?

the 2 blokes you are talking about were happy to go along being average? What a joke.. Before lv got there it was average very average at least he tried doing something for the club and yes he is head strong but only for the good of the club.. Not his fault the club was up the shit before he got there.. It was a club who was just happy to be playing cricket in any grade and not wanting to improve and he and a few others wanted more and we got it.. I bet now a couple of those blokes who left will come back and they can sit back and run a grade 6 team and say i told you so.. Thats all they are capable of running and i know that for a fact..

Some good comments there Norm, well done.

But..

1. I would "like" to think that BL is the most professional and well run club in Grade 1 ;)

2. If you going to bag out people for hiding behind their names then have a crack at Creekers aswell!

Unless someone is/was getting paid thousands to play PDCA then who gives a f**k!

the thing is browny if someone was getting thousands who really gives a **** about that as well.. At least now i am going to a club that has more than 2 people putting there hand up to improve year after year.. My 2nd game at the wells.. I rocked up at two wells oval and noone was there.. They forgot to tell me that they forfeited the game.. And norm says lv and scott were happy to be average..

I have to say Scott Wendland was the only reason i come to play for Two Wells and ill be straight up and honest it wasn't money...

I will also say that the team that come together over the past 3 years majority of them are best mates now and will have friendships for life..

I for one think that's alot more than cricket and money can put together...

Im also all for blokes getting paid if they perform!!!!

Best cricketer in Two Wells sorry Norm is STAMA by a country!!!!!!

It's also very unlike you to blow ur trumpet!!!!!
