As per the other threads looks like GF will not be played.

Lower North will be rightly crowned the premiers for the year. They have been the best team all year and deserved premiers albeit the shine will be off having no GF.

Have to feel for the Blyth blokes.

When the 1st week gets washed out and the back up day gets washed out and then the back up, back up day gets washed out what then?
Imagine if they didnt have a bye the week before finals

You bowl leg spin, how do you reckon you would go on a balmy 8 degree Clare winters day with little practice given its dark by 5pm?

How times have changed.
When I lived at Blyth I went to Clare HS and it rained almost every day!
Can never remember playing footy at Clare Oval when it wasn’t a stinking bog hole

I think they talk about 20 inches being an amazing year up here. Apparently back in the golden days they used to get up 25 inches comfortably.

They say last year was the best Clare Oval has ever looked, not a patch of mud on it at any stage.

Yeah just saw the email.

I was speaking to Ben Pratt only a couple of hours ago, he will be filthy! Have to feel for those lads but i believe the right call was made.

Will be moving clubs this year due to moving slightly further north and leaving the Stanley comp.

It’s been a really enjoyable three years in the comp with a great bunch of blokes to play with and against

Has reignited my passion for the game.

Will keep an eye on scores throughout the year hoping for a Seahorse flag!

I’ll be playing for Spalding where I live, pretty much just play home games and the odd away game.

Will make training a lot easier rather than heading in the opposite direction from work.

Games are also ten overs shorter so half an hour or so less time

Still don’t know why Stanley persist with 45 overs per side starting at 1pm

Personally I don’t like all one dayers but get why comps do. The Sevenhill guys would love two day cricket but the comp wouldn’t survive.

I don’t mind the 45 over concept, 40 overs in particular can be really tricky to get everyone a bat and bowl especially in a grade level where there is a tighter balance between winning and player enjoyment.

In saying that though any game that the team batting first batted their entire 45 then essentially went well past 6pm. At this stage in my life and family wise the ten less overs a day makes a difference.

Enigma and quick bowler Jimmy Hunter has also committed.
Young allround sensation Riley Stirling is off to Woodville U16 but it’s understood he will qualify and be around for the crunch time.

Sevenhill have lost a few. From what I understand Redden, Edmonsen and Daley wont be playing this year for a variety of different reasons. Sevenhill have a bunch of talented young lads coming through he will get some strong opportunities.

Good to see Riley having a crack, very talented, his timing is on another level.

Would expect Blyth to be right around the mark along with Balak who are always there. That will be the top 2 for mine. The rest of the comp will be a real raffle.

Brinky could be anything....will they see more of Issac Moller who I personally I rate as the best allrounder in the comp (one of the best I have ever seen). Absolute gun.

Like most years Clare best will be sensational but they will also drop some games they shouldn't.
