That's a great initiative, Whuffer.
I know an organisation that might be interested in reporting on that.

Was at the units today and had a look at the Riverside book, They went for about 370odd in round 1 and then 570odd yesterday wow that's a lot of runs 2 weeks in a row. Especially an attack with McMillon (Spelling?) in it.

Benny didn't bowl in round 1, he was away on a footy trip.

What about Edge - what happened with him?

How do you guys see the future of the PDCA?
I had a discussion on the weekend with someone who believes it's on the way out.
I'm not so sure about that and was surprised by the comment.
I'd be interested to see what others think.

I think cricket in general across the board seems to be in a bit of a decline - PDCA are not alone in that boat.
Being the largest community cricket comp north of Adelaide though I very much doubt it's on the way out.

Think in the coming years one of two things will happen:
a) C&CCA fold, and PDCA absorb majority of their 22 teams
b) PDCA clubs move to C&CCA and the two comps level out a bit with number of teams.

2 day cricket is struggling, the 1 day stuff seems to be thriving though.

The standard is definitely not what it used to be - was discussing it with a couple of lads Saturday in C&CCA, the current Div 1 C&CCA is probably equivalent to Div 3 or 4 of 10yrs ago.

Na mate, the lower grades aren't as strong as they used to be but the PDCA is definitely not on it's way out.

54 senior sides, 34 junior sides and 12 womens teams, the PDCA will have sustainability for some time yet, I'd put my hand up to run the show if I thought it was heading south.
One concern is the older age groups seem to be getting harder to field, they've always been a tough market but this season it seems a bit tougher.

Yeah I think the pdca is pretty safe for a while, most clubs still have pretty good numbers in the senior comps

You have probably played the two worse sides in that divison but you are right apart from div1 the standard of the comp has dropped alot.

Its weird div 1 at present is very bowler heavy, each team apart from Craigmore have a genuine quick, Seccafein, Ryan Parker, Justin Davies, Benny McMullen, Woodward, Nick Lynch, Justin Carmen but the batting stocks probably arent as strong as in previous years.

I remember the div 5 b grade runners side i played in for Eastern Park and we had younger blokes like Nathaniel Brookes, Bradley Banks, Jamie McCafferty and then older blokes like Christian McIver, Darren Knox, Rob Latrobe

The team we lost to was Elizabeth Fields who had Robby Howe, Gav Elliott, Scotty Donanldson, Mick Debaur, Donga, Walker, Lowey

The loss of Sandy Creek and Brahma Lodge was a massive blow to the standard of the comp.

The demise of Salsibury North, and in recent times the exodus of players from OTH and R&C have also obviously hurt the comp.
