Geez twogood Every club loses players BL has lost Tonkin Tisdale and Laverty, Tonkin was arguably the best solid bat in the assoc last year, Ask Two Wells how he batted in the final. We now pick kids and get on with it. No good crying over it.
If you can read my post properly! I was relating to how the players would cope in grade 1 when lossing a few quality players and to date they have cope very well as the ladder indicates.

he def batted well in the final..was that the grand final? oh no thats right it wasnt..

Grahaml wrote:As far as I can tell this should be the ladder (assuming the stats on the mycricket page are correct for this round). The only game that looks like it might be only a week one update is the Sandy v Virginia game. If Norm11 knows whether that progressed past Virginia's 6/149 as showing on the site then perhaps I might need to add points to those sides. Interesting to note only Salisbury West were undefeated after 2 games and remain so. Brahma got their first win while Sandy and Two Wells are now about 2 innings from the top two after appearing to be West's main rivals in preseason talk.

Salisbury West 33.15
Virginia 32.72
ATCO 27.29
Rose + Crown 19.89
One Tree Hill 19.10
Two Wells 18.59
Brahma Lodge 17.61
Sandy Creek 17.34

very interesting.. some real big games coming up for the bottom 3...

Orange Maggot- Two Wells shouldnt of won the semi final???
I Dont get it?
Everyone knows the rules at the start of the season and if play is abandoned due to rain or its too hot then the team that finishes higher on the ladder goes through to the next round.
If Brahma Lodge thought honestly thought they were a chance, why wouldnt Sibbick have thrown Wells into bat earlier? Everyone knew the weather forecast for the next three days was going to be 40+ and Sunday was already forecasted saturday at lunchtime to be 41 in Adelaide let alone Elizabeth's forecast!!!
Two Wells were aware of this and thats why they took their foot off the pedal for the saturday...
Either way Two Wells went on to win the Grand Final the following week in fine style...

Very true B&S sounds to me as though sibbick stuffed right up... Hard to change the result now.. Two Wells much deserved premiers and were the standouts most of the year..

You deserved to go through because you finished higher (due to outrights). I think the club in general was pretty dissapointed because we had 4 teams in the finals and they ALL got knocked out due to the heat.

Its a hard pill to swallow losing a final because of weather.

Saturday was 39, Sunday was 40 - Whats the difference!

Heat policy should be modified for a final. That is ridiculous callign off a game for being too hot especially when it is a final. This world is too soft these days. The world would be better off wihtout lawyers.

Rules are rules... You can't start changing rules because it's a final. Everybody is well aware of the HEAT policy before Rd 1. SOFT IT MAYBE BUT THEY ARE THE RULES.

It is voted on at every PDCA AGM, it is in the best interests of the PDCA to have something in place, a bloke passed away last season after a days play and he wasn't even very old, Adelaide Turf comp for memory, call the world "soft", I'd like to think of it as "smart".

Yes he was from the ATCA and from what I ahve heard did not have the ideal preparation. It is soft and from a legal point of view smart, I just think it is a disgrace that lawyers can let hte world be this way so we have to put these ridiculous policies in place so as not to worry about a law suit. We are all adults and should know how to adequately prepare for a game especially if it is going to be hot. I am lucky I dont get affected by it in my grade at Adelaide Turf but it is a summer sport, you should expect ot playi n the heat. How did they do it in the old days. People I guess back then were jsut a lot harder than we are these days. It is pathetic.

There is nothing tough about playing cricket when it 40.. No one likes it and no one likes to play in it when it does get that hot.. Totally agree with the rules..
