Very true Dutchy. I think the work that Drex and CO. have put in this season has been second to none off the field. The club is looking strongest its been since I started playing there in 2000. With two of its senior teams possibilities for some finals action!

One other thing... I played my first game of A Grade for Mt. Lofty in 2003... thats only 4 years ago, and there is just ONE player in that side who is still playing A Grade at the club... Nick Justice... interesting.

I just threw up in my jocks Silk. Miles cant even get a bowl in that side. Premiership contenders I reckon...

are the ranges pretty bad dutchy, we've got them this week and i havent played against them yet. i know we only just lost to them earlier in the year, could be the gate knock them off this time. s.wator and a.bowes hitting some good form coming up to the finals. wickets were easy to come by for us last wk bowling mylor out in 15 overs. dare say ER have a much stronger batting line up though, who are the solid bats for them dutch?? i know finch has made a few runs this year.

they are OK...bit arrogant, but then again they have won every game, we made 160 against them and they passed us 8 down, we were on top most of the day but their No 3 or 4, a left hander got away from us...him and Finch are the dangers..Finchy is a weird one as we all no doubt know!

We have Stanleys this week in a Eliminational final really, the winner will get 4th off SCIB's the loser will struggle to make the finals...we have arranged a neutral umpire as appartently they love to cheat!!...the one club Ive never faced in the HCA..looking forward to seeing them! If we get over them we have Mylor and Bridgey to finish off the season which we would expect to win therefore this week is huge

A neutral umpire is an excellent idea Dutchy, small controversies seem to follow them a little bit

We bowled them out for 169 last week at Scott Creek but they then bowled us out for 69. Very good bowling attack for C grade. 4 of us were caught at 4th slip! For the opening bowlers there were only 2 fielders infront of the bat! Not a standard field for C grade hard wicket I would have thought?

We will be watching the weather forcast, over 40 and it is a draw I thought? 3 pts each? SCIB's stay 4th?

Yes we have been lobbing for a Neutral umpire for a few weeks for this game....SCIB's will be praying for a 41 degree day..that would make it real tight for 4th position...you get 3 points just for losing from your bonus points so a heat out would be a disaster...bit like the rained out game a couple of weeks ago we had Basket Range!!! We would be in the 4 now if we played that day...

It is hard to make it fair I suppose with the bye, we are going to be rewarded for having the week off if it is called off for heat.

We have had a neutral umpire a couple of times over the years for Stanley Bridge I am sure but that would have been quite a few years ago now. They seem to be a different side each year bar a few stall warts. I have found they don't mind intimidating the umpire when the pressure is on in the game, especially when it is a younger member of the team which can be quite often in the C's.

Note - My little match report was for last weeks game against Eastern Ranges, it probably wasn't that clear. It is hard to know what you are going to come up against with Stanley Bridge!

i think stanleys have changed a fair bit from earlier years. back when they were a power house of the C's they used to get a bit pissed during the game and really get stuck into the younger umpires, and considering most of them looked like bikies back then it was quite intimidating. but theyre the have beens of the comp now. id be more inclined to get a neutral umpire against either h.valley or last years tools- clarendon, these are by far the worst two cheating sides.

was it scibs who had the bye on the washed out day? that was big bonus and could come in handy come finals time.

GTS yeah Valley were shocking last week...if you bowled down leg side they called nearly every one a wide!!! and it wasnt just one of them, they all did it, when challenged one said to me "how do you expect them to hit the ball when its down leg side?" been watching way too much TV...didnt get a LB desipte 5-6 shouts and didnt give a run out...very annoying, but we had the last laugh at least...

GTS - We had the bye last time it was hot I think, we had Stanley Bridge when it rained and Stirling had the bye. But yeah it could prove very handy come finals. I suppose it is a bit unfair but I really don't know how it could be fixed except for getting rid of the bye.

Atank, it could become interesting if its called of for heat on sat. scibs c's have the bye so wont pick up the 3 points for a draw. however unfortunately for dutchy neither stanley or lofty will get a win and will both stay under scibs. then scibs and lofty have the same easy beats for their last two rounds- shanty and mylor, it will come down to who wins by more. dont like stanleys chances of making the finals if heat rule is applied.

Good assessment GTS, if it is called off for heat this week, it could be a run fest for the last two rounds, potentially a race to the finals with the bat! Lofty has two games in a row at Heathfield High Bottom Oval while SCIB's are at Bradwood Park and Scott Creek. I could come down to who can find the boundary more ofen over the two weeks. But then again this is all speculation until it actually gets called off for heat. So far the forcast is for 40, so does that mean it is game on or early to the pub?

if we do play Atank then unfortunately for u boys eitheer lofty or stanley will move up above you. i dont know if stanley could beat stirls to win there last two, but lofty should win theirs so if lofty win this week could be good night scibbys.
