Burra are the surprise packet of 21/22 going to 3-0 on the back of hitting 293 against Bundlaeer. Schupper was the start hitting a ton whilst Harry Quinn chipped in with 70 odd. Bundaleer were never in the run chase being bowled out for 129, they will be somewhat disappointed after opening their account last week.

Booleroo continued their solid start to the year bowling out Wilmington for 102 and chasing it 4 down in 25 overs. Real disappointing result for Wilmington who will have considered it an 'on' week with all their shift workers playing. Booleroo now sit 2-1 and could be chasing a top 4 spot.

Joel Durnford is the star with the ball. He returned last year from spending four years in the US on a golf scholarship.

Jordan Arthur is doing a good job with the bat....along with Smithy when he plays.

From what I understand plenty of familiar names in the side.

They still have David Clarke (son is Justin Clarke ex Brisbane Lions footballer who quit due to concussion and is now studying at Oxford University in the UK)

Dion Foulis has been playing for them for many years as well.

I’m 99.9% sure I’m correct but have been wrong before even when I’m certain lol

All games called off on the weekend due to the rain.

On the Sunday NACA went down to Stanley by 3 wickets in a low scoring affair. Stanley chased down NACA's modest 118 with plenty of overs to spare but 7 down.

With close to 50mm of rain forecast between Wednesday and Saturday I doubt we will see any action this week.

No preview this week. Would be surprised if we even need to rock up tomorrow.

About half the farmers I know have started harvesting. A little bit of damage to crops but they are still talking about it being a solid year.

Burra beat Spalding in a high scoring game on the weekend. Batting first Burra made 240 thanks to a Sam Mattey 100. Sadly his quality bat and even better bloke..... Worst first 10 overs of cricket by Spalding that ive ever seen...bordleline emabarrasing.

Bel-Man got off the mark with an emphatic victory bowling out Wilmington for 22.

Pekina made it two wins now with a comfortable victory over Bundlaeer chasing about 144.

Orroroo had a extremely close win against Booleroo defending their total of 90.

Actually look like we might get some cricket this weekend.

Last game of the first round of fixtures, at the end of this round we will have a great idea of where everyone sits.

Spalding vs Wilmington
The unlucky Spalding taken on Wilmington having missed out on two games against the bottom two sides due to the rain. Wilmingtons last game out was one of their off weeks and were bowled out for 22 against Bel Man. You would expect Spalding to win this one no matter what side Wilmington put out on the park. Hopefully they have a strong team and this is a close one.

Burra vs Bel Man
Game of the round. Bel Man got their first win last time out and now just two games outside of the top 4. A win here against the undefeated surprise packet Burra is critical for their finals hopes. If Burra can get the win here that will almost guarantee finals with them being at least 3-4 games ahead of the fifth place side. Should be a belter.

Pekina vs Booleroo
Another cracker with fourth taking on fifth. Both teams look to have over achieved at this early stage and win here will be a massive boost to their finals chances heading into the second round of games. Both can be a bit hit and miss as far as what team they place on the park but I fancy Pekina in this one.

Bundaleer vs Orroroo
Could be closer than expected depending on who Bundaleer put on the park. Orroroo will be looking to get the win and cement themselves in the top 3. A win here could potentially see them 2 games clear of the fifth placed side.

Why’s that??

Spalding had a comfortable win over a very undermanned Wilmington. Fair play to the Wilm/Melrose lads, drove an hour and a half down bringing 8 under 16 cricketers with them. Bowled out for 67 though which was chased down comfortably. Was a good opportunity to Spalding to bowl and bat some blokes that wouldn't usually be guarented a crack.

Burra keep rolling on and in the mean time make it very difficult for the reigning champs Bel/Man to make the finals. It was once again the SMattey show hitting back to back tons. Bel/Man will now need to win at least 4-5 games out of their last 7 to make finals and are somewhat at the mercy of games not being called off due to heat etc which your sure will happen at some point. Burra remain top undefeated.

Orroroo remain in second place after an easy victory over Bundlaeer bowling them out for 49 and chasing it three down in ten overs. Bundaleer hopes of making finals are done you would think.

Pekina continue to push for a top four spot with a easy win over Booleroo. Pekina bowled first and bowled out Booleroo for 87, then chasing it down in the 21st over 4 down. Pekina now jump into the four in the place of Booleroo. If Pekina can win the games they should eg Wilmington, Bundaleer, Booleroo then they should make the top 4.

Very true

The guys love it though, Burra and Spalding could easily move to the Stanley association and cut travel time heaps but both clubs love the comp.

Yeah didn't even need to rock up.

The comp has a rule that if two games are abandoned due to weather than all four games are called off. Melrose and Orroroo were called off by 10am Saturday morning, worked out well as in the end we would have started play at Booborowie on time but she would have been over by 2pm.

Funnily enough no game helped us out at Spalding, now we have to win our last two games against the two bottom sides to guarantee finals. Had we played on the weekend and results went the way of the higher placed sides we would have been out of the four today and relying on results to go our way to play finals.
