Wirrabara Murraytown

Postby country nomad » Fri Oct 12, 2012 8:06 pm

I know that Wirrabara Murraytown play in the Rocky River Cricket Assoc. I also know that they haven't fielded a team this season and that one of their stars Dougal Milne is playing for Wilmington Melrose in the NACA. I was just interested though if anyone knew where Beetle Murdoch is playing this season...or if he's playing at all?

I'll find out about Bettle, I'm sure he would still be playing one of the best country cricketers in SA in his day, sad to see Wirraburra/Murraytown fold, a real power in Rocky River cricket, I read today they are confident of getting back on track next season, lets hope so!

Beetle Murdock is lining up for Georgetown this year. Interestingly he drives past Laura and Gladstone clubs to get to Georgetown.

Darren would probably line up for one the Jamestown sides I reckon but I don't have any facts.
Also, I just saw the Gerorgetown scorebook from Saturday and no Beetle Murdock in there so maybe I was wrong on that score as well! Its been known to happen...

Grub is Craig "Grubby" Woolford who, like Brett Murdock is a former captain of Wirrabara-Murraytown

Yes, Beetle is playing at Georgetown. Batting middle order and making 40's. Not bad for a guy who is 50 give or take a year

That is the story running around Northern Areas/Rocky River at the minute. Couple of Pirie cricketers showing interest in joining the cause in October if they get it off the ground.
