Getting the younger kids doesn't seem to be a problem Locky, it's keeping them interested when they turn 15 or 16, discover girls and the hormones take over.

probably right Ian, so this is where clubs have to work harder to keep them interested, doesnt however seem to hinder SANFL Youth development Squads at that age, agree however it is hard (spose literally) to keep them interested, something that has to be worked on at club level

Different areas have problems with different age groups. Talking to the guys at SMOSH West Lakes, they had 28 new 9-11's but couldn't get enough for separate u/12 & 13 sides. In the same area this year Grange PS and West Lakes Shore PS aren't fielding Yr 6/7 teams so it would seem there is a shortage of 11-12yo in that area.

I personally know Jeff who was the Under 16s coach from woodville south and at no time ever would he throw a player from any club!!!!!

Yes I have seen what happened that day and I have no ties to the west croydon or woodville south football clubs. So I like to think that my view is one from a open mind.
I do have to say a big congrats to west croydon for all of their hard work.
I had the oppertunity to be a game day official from a different club who have played west croydon this season at a junior level. I can say nothing but EXCELLENT things regarding that day.
